Sturgeon Valley Golf & Country

Sturgeon Valley Golf and Country club is a phenomenally well kept course with helpful, courteous staff, and a fantastic restaurant to boot. The practice facilities are comprehensive with two large putting greens, and a chipping green with two practice bunkers to hit out of rounds out an exceptional place to practice. Providing a decent variety of holes, with notable signature holes such as 1 and 17, this track has a lot to offer any golfer. I am a big fan of SVGCC, and am always happy for the time I get to spend here.

Stopped to try out the club house. No club house on menu so basic burger it is. Comes with cheese. Awesome. Everything was great but the bun seemed crumbly a little old maybe. And towards end of the burger it was charcoal taste a bit too much and dry. The first bites were great. The finish not so great. Guinness poured great. Fries crispy and buttery soft in the middle.

Great place to play around of golf ⛳️. Or take lessons from Cody Hancock or stop and have a bite to eat. Customer service and staff can't say anything bad about them at all. 👍👍

Played: 13-Jul-2020 It was tough getting a public tee-time here, probably due to the limited tee-times during the Covid-19 pandemic, they maybe reserving most of their tee-times for their members. The course itself is in good condition. The tee boxes and fairways were in good condition, the greens crew was out cutting the fast growing rough. Most of the greens are in good condition, and the pace was quick. A few of them had recently been aerated and looked spotted but rolled okay.

Sturgeon's membership successfully models the fun parts of golf with a respectful and totally high-end experience. Most important to me is that they treat their staff well, which influences service delivery and the overall client/member experience. Additionally, Kris and Chase connected me with a weapons-grade Ping G440 that carries 300 all day long using range balls. (Would love to see a 300 sign out on the range.) Wow, everyone here is very pleasant and helpful. I came here specifically for lessons from Cody... Wow what a legend. My game has improved just from one hour of his instruction! Definitely going to go see him again at the end of the seasonfor a tune up. I haven't golfed here but the course looks beautiful, and the pro shop and restaurant are very nice looking, definitely plan on grabbing a round here ! But if you need lessons go see Cody !

Absurdly overpriced at $115 w/cart on weekday, $125 on weekends. The course is nice, but it's not any better than places like The Ranch ($75/$85), Leduc ($75/$85), or Cougar Creek ($89/$99). This isn't even mentioning places like The Quarry or Northern Bear which are just outright better than Sturgeon Valley while still being (slightly) cheaper. The practice facilities pail in comparison to a place like Redtail Landing (no grass driving range, nowhere to practice pitching) and the food is mediocre.

If you’re in the area and looking for a really good course, Sturgeon Valley Golf & Country Club is a must-try. The course is always in amazing shape, and the staff are awesome. We’ve eaten here a few times as well and every experience has been excellent—the food is really good!

Great course. Very forgiving for a novice golfer and still challenging for experienced ones. The scenery was beautiful and the course was in excellent condition. The greens were a little worse for wear but smooth enough.

Absolutely horrible treatment. That Doug marshall needs to be put in his place and learn respect and understand who he is and that he doesn’t have the right to be disrespectful. If Doug worked for my company he would have been fired on the spot and look for another job. Very stuck up staff especially in the pro shop. Threw me the keys to the cart and was very disrespectful. The Individual operating the register on Saturday’s around 5:30 pm to 8:30 or so. Very disrespectful . A good course overall and greens are nicely maintained. Quite pricey though for so called Twilight time and was not used to that type of price tag starting at 430 pm. My employee did not have on proper attire and I get that but his shirt did not have writing on it nor a muscle shirt so that cost me another 100 dollars off clearance rack just so he could play too and as 20 mins from our hotel in NW Edmonton location wise. Golf was still fun but yes PRICEY.
