In summary

Sugartree Golf Club, soon to be known as "The Brazos Club," is highly praised for its immaculate course conditions, challenging yet enjoyable layout, and scenic setting along the Brazos River. Visitors appreciate the well-maintained greens and the unique experience of playing amidst abundant wildlife. While the course is considered challenging, particularly due to its narrow fairways and blind shots, some players note the need for better signage and occasional slow pace of play during busy times. Overall, the club's friendly staff and ongoing improvements under new ownership contribute to its reputation as a standout golf destination.

Beautiful course with plenty of doglegs and deer roaming around, making every round feel special. The greens are pure and roll perfectly, and the par 3s are a lot of fun. The holes along the Brazos add a great natural touch. Definitely a course I’ll be coming back to!

Wonderful course in great shape. I went on a very wet day so obviously path only. Aside from some flooding on one hole, which frankly was outside of their control, the course was immaculate. On a nice weather day this course would be a gem. Would recommend 10/10. Fun layout, challenging but fair, awesome staff, checks all the boxes.

At Sugartree operations and course conditions continue to improve making it the premier golf destination in the area. Greens consistently roll between 10.5 and 11.0 on the stimp and new maintenance equipment has made them the best they have ever been.

Course conditions were great. Greens roll very true. Not to fast and not slow. Lots of blind tee shots, so was difficult playing for the first time.

I've played this course alot. It helps that I live right down the road. They are continually making improvements to the course through the years. Tight course! I like the new Par 5's and clearing of trees on certain spots on the course. Especially the Par 5 running along the Brazos. Greens are great. Highly recommend Sugarbush!! Get involved!

This place was awesome. Beautiful and definitely challenging. Much different than im used to. Can't wait to play again. Could use more signs on the holes to know which tee box it is but really wasnt super hard to figure out. This is what keeps it from a 5 star for me. 4.5 in my book. The scorecards dont show the layout of the course. Shows each hole but not like an Ariel view. I liked the layout. Not Much room for error but as long as you are relaxed you will enjoy your round. Would take a few times to really get used to it . Staff was welcoming and respectful.

Great golf course in Lipan on the Brazos River. Fairways were in great shape. Greens had been recently aerated but were in decent shape considering. Lots of shade from abundant oak trees. Fair amount of water hazards on the course. All in all, a very enjoyable course.

This was our first visit, but will not be the last. Course condition is immaculate, but very challenging. The scenery and abundant wildlife make it very unique experience to be so close to the hustle of the dfw. Overall a 10/10 golf course.

Played here for the first time on 5/15/21 and it was great. Greens were very well kept, not too hard, and the fairways were emaculate. The back 9 was more difficult for me but I was a little off all day. Will definitely be coming back in the future

Wonderful course, but unless you are an excellent golfer you will find this course very challenging. Bring extra golf balls as you will need them.

The course has improved significantly under the new owners with a new name of "The Brazos Club" sometime soon. I can't wait to see it in a year from now, it could be the newest old gem on the west side of DFW.
