In summary

Taconic Golf Club is highly praised for its beautifully maintained course, classic layout, and stunning mountain views, making it a must-visit for golf enthusiasts. The restaurant is well-regarded for its pleasant atmosphere and reasonable prices, though some diners have experienced slow service. While the staff is generally seen as welcoming, there are occasional concerns about customer service and the lack of a practice range.

This is a review of the restaurant which my wife and I have very much enjoyed. In nice weather, you can't beat sitting on the covered patio overlooking the course to the mountains beyond. The dining room is nothing fancy which is just right. It's clean and the staff is very helpful, pleasant, and efficient. The menu is also nothing fancy but the food was just what we wanted, perfectly cooked, and nicely presented. My wife enjoyed the fish and chips or a burger and I enjoyed a Cesar Salad (and some of her chips which were among the best we have had). After a round of golf or like us, just a mod…

One of the best courses I’ve played. Old school, traditional, wonderful layout, great shape.

This is one of the finest golf courses in the region, hands down. It is extremely challenging, with many elevated greens. The condition of the course is outstanding, particularly given how many rounds are played there. The greens are quite fast...look out if you're above the hole! It's an old style course but fairways are generously wide. You pay the price if you're in the rough. It's a fairly easy course to walk but will give you a workout. The pro and his staff are great...very welcoming and courteous. Restaurant is excellent and prices are very reasonable. Only negative is there is no pract…

I played there yesterday. The staff there the bag boys weren’t the most friendliest people I went into the pro shop. I’ve been collecting golf balls for the last 40 years. I asked the gentleman there is a young kid Tom or Tod do you have logo golf balls he said yes I just reached into the bucket, took one out I get home. I’m like an over an hour away and it’s not even a logo golf ball. I called the Pro Shop and he said we’re not mailing you a golf ball if you want you can come back and exchange it. I couldn’t even return the golf ball. He said you have to bring it yourself . That’s not cool.

Taconic is a wonderful venue. A hidden gem, located on the property of Williams College. The landing areas are generous, and the greens are wonderful, but whatever you do be below the cup!! Scenic mountain views and downtown Williamstown is a wonderful place to while away the hours.

This review is in regards to use of Taconic Golf Club during the winter months. This place has a great sledding hill which is one of our favorite spots. Many people use it during the winter for hiking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing as well. There is plenty of parking right there on the property as well.

Great views of the mountains and college in background, course was not overly difficult fairways were wide and generous so dont know why the course rating and slope are so high for this course setup. Another thing that bugged me was the grounds crew was up in you the didnt back off as u played the hole(like hey i payed $100 to play). Plus the course need a sense of direction out the like some tee markers with head stones with a number on it!!

Was there for a class reunion. The food was excellent but the service was terrible. Had to wait for a very long time for the dinners to arrive and also had a long wait while they figured out our bills individually. Got there at 5 :30pm... meal was not served until 8pm....very disappointed..

Very nice course, good layout and tricky greens, but as with most private/semi private clubs you get some members that have a feeling of entitlement and get a bit mouthy if there is a little slow play, I just gave them the Birdie and continued on our way.

Taconic Golf Club, rated 4-1/2 stars, located in Williamstown in the far northeast corner of Massachusetts, is home to a championship golf course that ranks with some of the best in the state. This tree-lined and open parkland layout provides a wonderful test for your all-round game, with many attractive, skilfully crafted and challenging holes to enjoy. A must play if you are in the area.
