What People Say

In summary

Tamarack Golf Course receives high marks for its well-maintained conditions, particularly on the recently renovated West course, and its strategic layout that challenges golfers with water hazards and doglegs. Many appreciate the friendly staff and the overall fun experience. However, some visitors express concerns about the lack of amenities such as water access and benches, as well as occasional slow pace of play and high green fees.

Overall I liked playing Tamarack’s West course. The layout is nice with some fun holes. The sand traps were in excellent condition as were most of the fairways. The tee boxes were a different story. They were either not mowed, it was like you’re teeing off in the rough or there was more dirt than grass. The beverage cart service was very good as was the snack shack at the turn. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They should put images of the hole layout on the scorecard or at the tee boxes so that golfers have an idea where to aim and what hazards are present.

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve had the pleasure of playing both the East and recently renovated West course and had a great time on both. Tee boxes, fairways, greens and bunkers were all in great shape. The West played much harder for me than the East. I really enjoyed how much water came into play on both courses forcing me to be more strategic in my play. (Not sure why I don’t always play like that) I shot an 82 on the East and a 93 on the West. Now that I’m more familiar with the West, I can’t wait to try again. Great course with fast pace of play, challenging holes and reasonable green…

Tamarack West makes you think on every shot — lots of strategy, risk/reward decisions, and you’ve got to shape it both ways to score. Way tougher than the rating suggests. Conditions were excellent across the board — tee boxes, fairways, bunkers, and greens all in great shape.

I play both the East and West courses regularly, and while the renovations are appreciated, the overall experience doesn’t match the significantly higher green fees—especially for a county course. Even with a resident card, the pricing feels out of line compared to other county courses in the area, with the West course in particular feeling overpriced for what’s offered. There are also some basic amenities missing. There are very few benches on either course—maybe one or two total—which makes it tough during slower rounds or for older players. The removal of water coolers during COVID made sen…

Course is in great shape. West is longer I rotate between east and west. Occasionally the play is slow which is frustrating as the tee times are every 10 minutes so you shouldn’t have to wait that long. Should be able to play in 4 hours.

It was ok, rough shape, they should think about doing maintenance to the course, a lot bre spots especially around the greens, the west course was tore up from the floor up. Plays long from the whites 6349 yrs. But hey how bad can it be if you playing golf and enjoying the day. Both the east and west side courses were packed even with the terrible conditions.

Nice 36 hole county course. The conditions aren't the best, but if you're a registered county member, it's a great local value. I wouldn't recommend it for non registered out of county golfers as it gets expensive and I think there are better places for the money.

Would be great if the main office and the driving range would stay open for the hours in which they say they are open. Driving 20 minutes to find out that you close early for no reason is bullshit.

Soo this was the first course I actually started playing rounds. The driving range is cool. The chip and putt is great as well. West course has been updated and looks amazing and plays pretty difficult. East is probably gonna be renovated at some point but still is kept up well. Greens almost run fast, and are pretty well maintained.

The course is in beautiful condition. Tee boxes are amazing. Greens are in great shape. Don't have any photos, sorry. First time out this year. They've really have made the East course a gem. Can't wait until the West is open. It looks amazing.
