In summary

The Club at Shoal Creek is praised for its challenging and well-maintained course, friendly staff, and reasonable pricing, making it a favorite among many golfers. The greens are often highlighted as being in excellent condition, and the course layout offers a good mix of challenging holes. However, some visitors have noted issues with hard tee boxes, thick rough, and occasional slow play due to the absence of a course marshal. Additionally, some amenities and facilities are undergoing improvements following storm damage, which has also affected certain areas of the course.

I love this course. It's challenging to me as a beginner and I don't play it particularly well, but for as challenging as it is to me, the shots that i hit well are very rewarding. The staff has been real kind and welcoming. The first time I was there I met one of the staff, I think his name was Mike, and he told me about the work that has been done since the tornadoes and I was very impressed as a groundskeeper myself. Mike asked me not to be a stranger, and I keep coming back. I travel all over ga and play wherever I can. This is a quality course for its price point. Definitely one of my fav…

This is a great golf course. Can't wait to see it in 2-3 years. Mother nature delivered a blow to the property. In some areas it opened up for increased playability. Greens are awesome. The track itself is very balanced with variation. Some holes are shot maker type others are aim and hit it hard.

Played Shoal Creek on 10/24. The course was very dry, fairways were very hard and tee boxes were like concrete. The greens were excellent, big, smooth, fast with new cups, flagsticks and flags. The Bermuda rough was way too thick. We didn’t play that well and if you go in the rough you are very lucky just to find it much less advance it. Staff was friendly and cost was like $40 to ride 18. I’d recommend hitting an iron or hybrid on most par 4s to keep in play. I enjoy playing different courses; however, this one doesn’t make the rotation for me.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at The Club at Shoal Creek, and it made for the most perfect night. We were able to have a cocktail hour outside on the lawn and the reception in the ballroom and bar. Lisa and Curtis Platte are great to work with. We are so thankful for them and for how hard they worked to make sure we had a wonderful wedding reception!

I'm almost afraid to post this because too many people might find this course and overrun it. The best golf value and experience in existence as far as I can find. The best prices, thin crowds and a very solid course. I moved farther away this year but regularly still drive 50 miles to play here. I'm now on the northeast side of the metro area and was shocked to see the super crowded and expensive state of courses on that side. There were multiple times this year we played Shoal Creek and saw NOBODY else on the course! When you try to play on the Northside, the parking lots are frequently o…

By and large we really enjoyed our first round here! The greens were much better than I expected based on other reviews I had read. They were receptive, rolled true and didn't have a lot crazy breaks. The fairways were in good shape as were the bunkers (thankfully I was only in a couple of the bunkers). The rough was pretty thick (not suppose to be there any way), but they really could have used some trimming. With all the rain we have in Georgia not cutting back the rough is understandable. The worst part about the course is the cart paths (or lack there of). I understand that paths are an ex…

They had an online deal for $33 per person, paid it for 4, arrived at course and was told to pay an additional $12.50 per person for carts. Price at clubhouse: $51, I saved a massive $6. No personal coolers on the course, multiple signs going to the clubhouse , so enjoy the lukewarm water that tastes like it has been in the cooler all week. Oh, you like to drink beer while playing golf with your buddies? Sure, you can buy an 8 pack of 16 oz at the clubhouse for the same price as a 30 pack at the store. It’s a great value, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. I will say that grass does cover mo…

I was a little taken back by the micro aggressive vibes I got; I simply went to inquire about the golf cart rentals and golf lessons and for someone he made it his mission to say the carts aren't for recreational use and stock Strickly for active golfers. #1 Isn't golf recreational. 2. I'm a middle age African American woman, what Do I look like playing around on their raggedy golf carts they rent to everyone 🤔 3. I have two of my own golf carts; bought brand new, a couple dirt bikes 🏍 and 4 wheelers I can use for recreation. 4. They should create a space for an ATV driving course; it'll defin…

This is our favorite pool! Well maintained and always clean. Beautiful setting overlooking the lake. Love sitting in a lounger with a book while the kids play. Many wonderful summer memories have been made here.

Great challenges on every hole! Excellent course considering the changes in the grass on the fairways and greens.

Nice course. You have to be patient no Marshall, and backed up at hole 2.

Great course, great price. They are working very hard to improve on what they have. Greens are in great shape, Fairways are in fair condition, tee boxes are in need of some work. Course isn't long but challenging with the narrow fairways and hazards.
