In summary

The Golf Club of Oregon is appreciated for its nostalgic charm, mature trees, and friendly service, with some visitors noting recent improvements under new ownership. However, many reviews highlight significant maintenance issues, such as overgrown fairways, poorly maintained greens, and inadequate communication regarding course operations. While the course has potential, concerns about upkeep and pricing relative to its current condition are frequently mentioned.

This is the worst golf course I have ever played. Fairways were ankle high (not joking). I Lost multiple balls in the middle of the fairway, they do not mow anything. Greens need a lot of work as you can tell from the photos. There was no sand in any of the bunkers, they looked like a mud pit with weeds growing in them. I feel like I got worse from golfing this course. My putting speed will be off. There was zero short grass to hit from. Felt as if I was playing from the thick rough the whole time. The driving range was overgrown and had nets all ripped up. Cart paths had no gravel and looked…

Unfortunately this course has been at a steady decline, will be taking it off the roster of available courses until something changes. Not sure where the greens fee is going when it doesn’t look like the course has been mowed in 2 weeks. Some holes it’s hard to tell where the green actually starts VS the fairway This course has potential! Just needs some attention and a grounds crew.

Golf course is looking great with new ownership. BIG improvement. If you haven’t been there for more than a few years you should definitely check it out now.

Played here on 8/3/2025. I grew up playing twilight golf on this course over a decade ago. I booked my tee time mostly for the nostalgia and just wanting to see it again after moving away. The night before I played I checked out the reviews and I got a little worried. However the reviews don't tell the full story. This golf course struggled for a long time, and it wasn't cared for how it should have been. The new owners of this course are clearly working very hard to rectify that. While it's not in perfect shape currently, it's obvious that improvements are happening. I've very excited at th…

This is a pretty course with lots of beautiful mature trees but it really lacks even basic maintenance to the point it’s barely playable. The only green patches are the greens and they were so fuzzy that putting was like trying to putt in the middle of a fairway. There were occasional green patches in the fairways but there were holes that had fairways that would not even make a decent cow pasture. I can tell this was a really nice course sometime in its past but that time is long gone it seems.

This course only gets two stars, they really need to improve. I understand the recent history regarding change of ownership this course has gone through and that they are slowly reviving. However, if your golf course is half alive, which this one basically is at this moment, then you cannot be charging the same prices as higher end courses in the area such as Trysting. Because I am a student Trysting is actually cheaper to play 9-holes than GC of Oregon. I also understand to revive this course you need to water a lot but damn, just about every time I play twilight they turn the sprinkles on m…

Wasted Trip – Poor Communication Really disappointed with my experience. Drove all the way out to North Albany Golf Course on a Tuesday late afternoon, only to find out they close early for league play. There was no mention of this on their website. If you’re going to close early on certain days, that should be clearly communicated. A simple notice would have saved me time and frustration. Do better.

When calling ahead to see what Tee times were available the employee was very disrespectful. She didn’t answer questions then hung up on me. Then when trying to get a cart, she complained that we took too long. I was unaware the my buddies needed their own golf clubs when playing, there wasn’t a sign that said so. Yes we are a bunch of guys having fun but were weren’t “dinking” around (in her words). My buddies weren’t very knowledgeable able with playing golf as this was their first time, but she still was being disrespectful about it. The course was not easy to follow either to go to the nex…

Every week is a new improvement to GCO. I enjoy seeing what each week brings. Taking lessons from Sharon has been wonderful and I’m learning so much. Highly recommend her.

It's a course that I *want* to like. It's an interesting layout with mature trees and wildlife, it's usually pretty quiet, and their specials are affordable. So why the low rating? Maintenance, or lack thereof. The course has deteriorated significantly over the past several years. New owners last year, so maybe it'll be better? Not today, it seems. It was an extremely frustrating round, with nearly every ball disappearing into fields of daisies and tall grass, even when hit right into the middle of "fairways." Greens and tee boxes were pretty rough as well. The new ownership has put emphasi…

Used to love this course as a new golfer, easy to play, shaded areas, easy going people. However the fairways are covered in Daisy's and fairly tall grass, so makes it very "fun" to find balls, only a few of the holes had decent fairways. Greens are not in great shape anymore. Really wish they would take better care of the course because it used to be a great place.
