What People Say

In summary

The Greens of Altus Golf Course receives mixed feedback from visitors. Many appreciate the improvements in course conditions, particularly the greens, and commend the friendly staff and management efforts to enhance the overall experience. However, there are recurring complaints about the fairways and tee boxes being hard and poorly maintained, as well as concerns about management's customer service approach.

this course sucks, point blank. fairways and tee boxes were like hitting off a rock. probably the worst course i have ever played. will never be going back there.

The manager of this place is complete jerk to new customers. The staff was pleasant but the manager came threatening to kick us out because I wasn't playing fast enough. They should probably offer a special course for new golfers if there's a time limit on each hole or at the very least set a time on the holes and make that very well known at the time of purchase. We spent $100 today between the course the golf clubs the balls the tees and drinks and then here comes the manager not giving us a polite warning but threatening to kick us out because we are holding up ONE group behind us. Really c…

Don’t waste your time. The staff is nice, but the course is so poorly kept. Ground was rock hard and the bunkers didn’t even have sand. It’s a 9 hole course, but they have a different set of tees for the “back” nine. All around wasn’t amused with it and I wouldn’t even think about going back.

This course has come a long ways in 2 years. The greens are in amazing shape and roll very nicely. The fairways and Tee box’s are a pretty dry but it’s South Oklahoma and It’s to be expected. If your military its both cheaper and nicer to play this course then the one on base. Best course in Altus without a doubt

The tee boxs are as hard as a rock! Paid for 18 didn't make it to the 5 hole. Just stay away from this of course.

Management makes this course unbearable. 2nd time in 6 games this man has gone out of his way to acost our party. This time was about carts near greens. Every golfer knows there is a distance away from the green a cart should stay to protect the grass. On decent courses there are signs to let us know. Today he stopped to tell us, while putting on the last hole, that near the greens they want us to keep carts on the cart path, which is a completely reasonable request especially since it is the start of the growing season. Telling us once would have been plenty but in, what I can only assume was…

Solid value here. Greens were impeccable. It’s clear that management cares about their product. Fairways are tough but if I had to pick between nice fairways or nice greens, I’ll take the greens every time. Impressive for the price and being in altus.

Management is horrible! He is a child that does not need to be in an adult job! The course is the equivalent of playing in an open field! There is not a smooth green or a flat tee box anywhere!

Course is getting better. Nice place to hang out and watch golf on tv and play some pool and other games in the new club house. Grab a snack and a drink and hang out with the family.

Management is awful. Course is terrible which 100% mirrors management. Go mow a random field and you will find similar playing conditions. Will never play this course again
