In summary

The Highlands Golf Club of Lincoln is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, challenging links-style layout, and reasonable pricing, attracting both locals and visitors. Many appreciate the friendly staff and the variety of tee boxes catering to different skill levels. However, some golfers report issues with slow pace of play and customer service, citing instances of overbooking and perceived preferential treatment of regulars. Additionally, the course's open setting can lead to windy conditions, which some find challenging.

On the first tee box the people behind us called the club house to golf ahead of us because we were going to "slow them down." The guy from the clubhouse told us we had to let them play through even though we were ON TIME and golfing at a good pace just because they were "regulars." Mind you this was on the FIRST HOLE and they had a BIGGER group. I am beyond pissed. Super rude. Will not be coming back. We ended up having to wait for them at half of the holes. Truly ridiculous.

Highlands is an extreamly fun track. The course is well kept. There are some areas of the course which are huge birdie oppritunities. The staff is helpful and cheery. There is some great instructors out at highlands. There is a tee box for all levels of golf. If it is windy and im talking about anything above 13 MPH highlands becomes a very difficult course. There is an airport to the side of the course which depending on who you are may be a bonus or a disadvantage. Love this course and keep coming back.

As a member of this course, I was very disappointed with their customer service today. I play golf here multiple times a week and because of a recent injury, I was going to ride along and watch my husband play today instead of playing myself. The desk workers insisted I pay a $25 spectator fee to ride along in his cart (that only had him riding in it to begin with). I would expect them to be more courteous and accommodating considering I would have only paid a capital improvement fee to play golf if I was not injured. I am very dissatisfied and will not be renewing my membership next year.

The staff are friendly and I'm surprised that I can enjoy a course in this condition at this price.

Best public course in Lincoln. For the price it is hard to beat. Some really fun holes that allow you to either take risks with high reward or lay up and have easy second shots. Greens are smooth, turf is in great shape. Course continues to be in great shape in June of 2024. Also, their range is pretty good, with 2 putting and chipping greens.

My wife and had the pleasure of playing another Jeff Brauer designed golf courses… this course didn’t disappoint with a great balance of playability and challenge… we do however think that their should be Tee lengths allowing women and super seniors to reach green in regulation. This is commonly overlooked and easily fix d by just placing markers on a level part of the existing fairway…

Fantastic layout! Lot's of tee boxes let you play this challenging course at different difficulties. Even with a typical southern wind good luck on #15. Like all Lincoln municipalities golf courses it’s very well maintained and enjoyable to play.

Great course, cost was very reasonable even with renting clubs. I got there when they opened on Thursday morning, 6 am. I was the only one on the course for some time. The roughs are deep and you can loose a ball easily there. Greens are very nice as are the fairways. Staff was very helpful. Enjoy a great round there sometime.

Played this course on Nov 8th. It was in terrific shape and the staff/groundskeepers were friendly. It's a links style course. I really liked the course. The greens were fast, but the breaks weren't too bad. It was very windy the day we played. I'd bet most days are fairly windy there. Not a lot of trees to give a break.

Drove just over an hour to come play here and would totally do it again. The course was in great shape and the views were awesome for Nebraska. The greens were pure, smooth rolling but not ridiculously fast. Highly recommend.

Probably my favorite course in Lincoln. Not exceedingly difficult, which is good for a hacker like me. The price to play the course is very reasonable. Limited number of trees on most of the course, deep rough, several water hazards. The clubhouse is nothing special, but the beer is cold and the prices aren't too bad. They have a driving range and putting green if you want to hone your game before your round. Hacker tip: If you're running low on balls, take a quick detour into the woods along #11 and restock.
