We had our daughter’s wedding at The Refuge on June 7, 2025, and we cannot say enough good things about this venue! Lisa, the wedding coordinator, was amazing from day one. She was extremely easy to work with, organized, and super friendly. Josh assisted us during the rehearsal and he knew exactly where everyone and everything needed to be. A wonderful establishment, with great staff. We had a January wedding here and it couldn't have worked out any better. Lisa and all of the staff were great from start to finish. The food was great, especially the appetizers. After looking into dozens of venues, this one stood out for the quality and value. It also stood out because of Lisa, the coordinator. She obviously cares a great deal about her clients. It was a great experience and I would recommend to anyone considering a wedding reception here.

My husband and I just got married at The Refuge a few weeks ago, and we could not have asked for a more perfect wedding venue! Our entire weekend from the rehearsal dinner, getting ready in the bridal suite, the ceremony, dinner, and the reception was absolutely amazing. Well, it's been 13yrs since I've played this course. Wow! 13yrs later it's still the same Golf Digest 4.5 rating!! Unbelievable course conditions. Great pace of play(I was a single). Greens were fast and true. Fairways were mint shape for late July. Great price from Golf Now. Staff was nice but just fair like he didn't like his job and just went through the motions but still "nice". I know the owner Rick is VERY hard to work for so maybe that's why? The Refuge was the perfect midsummer wedding venue! With its seamless blend of indoor and outdoor spaces, our guests were able to enjoy the beauty of a Minnesota summer while also having a stunning dining room for dinner and dancing. The staff at The Refuge were absolutely exceptional—professional, attentive, and kind throughout the entire planning process and on our wedding day. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and truly cannot recommend The Refuge enough!

The Refuge was a great place to get married! The staff were so upfront about everything from the beginning. We talked about prices, available dates, and rain options all at the tour. We toured other places but were immediately taken in by their honesty and support. All of the staff there were amazing! This course was a pleasure to play! The condition of the course was very good in most areas! Very well priced for the experience you receive here! They do have a couple niche holes but they don't take away from.the overall good experience! The par 3 are mostly bland and straight away but the length from the back makes up for that. Good practice area with a great bunker and well rolling green! The pro shop was a little cramped but not horrible. The staff were all polite and helpful. Looking forward to visiting again sometime!

Fun and challenging course with amazing views and nature everywhere. Played this course so many times and it never gets old! Also, the staff is fantastic and very helpful.

The Championship golf course has fun holes designed to stretch your imagination with how you play your next shot. What you don't know is that a missed fairway will likely cost you a shot. The 8-14" grass rough will swallow your ball even next to the green. Aside from the rough the course was in pretty nice shape. The greens were punched recently on September 1st so it was difficult to get true green rolls. The pitch marks left behind made it more difficult. The bunkers were not raked by any golfers hardly if ever, and the margins of the bunkers were fading into the fairway or rough from erosi…

The Refuge was an amazing venue for our wedding ceremony and reception! Gorgeous landscaping, helpful staff, and spacious gathering areas. We truly enjoyed our experience, and day-of coordinator Lisa was great in making sure things ran smoothly!

Nice club house and course format. Water hazard on just about every hole so bring extra balls. Got a great deal on Groupon.

Golf Course is well maintained. Very Challenging but rewards good golf. If you have not played the Refuge , this should be on your bucket list. You will come back! It has a private course feel to it and when you're on the course you barely notice a house, the entire round. The staff is next level. Every person I've ever encountered at the Refuge has been amazing at customer service. The clubhouse is awesome and a beautiful setting for weddings and events. Thank you from the Morales family !!!
