Top of the World Golf Course is often praised for its stunning views, particularly from the 10th tee, and its challenging layout that demands accuracy. While some visitors appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, others have reported negative experiences with customer service, citing rudeness and unhelpfulness. Additionally, there are mixed reviews about the course conditions, with some noting issues with the greens and cleanliness of golf carts.

Great views but that’s pretty much where the positivity ends. The golf course was in decent shape aside from the greens which, other than 4 or 5 holes were awful. In addition, I’ve been golfing for over 40 and have encountered many toxic pro shop guys (all golfers have). The fellow at Top of the World Golf is hands down the worst I’ve ever dealt with. Rude, confrontational and not the least bit affable or helpful. There are multiple courses in the area, most of which are far and above this one.

A decent mountain course. It was in decent shape, but the greens needed a cut. They were very slow. The staff are very friendly. Even the grounds crew would stop and talk. The pro shop guy even had bug spray for us to use. Trust me it's definitely needed. There are a couple of lake views from the tenth hole. A few tricky holes with accurate shots needed. Overall it's worth the visit.

I was really disappointed with our experience at Top of the World Golf Course, especially for a special occasion like Father’s Day. At nearly $70 per person, I expected much better. The golf carts were filthy—looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in days—and the greens were in terrible condition. To top it off, the staff at the pro shop was unfriendly and unhelpful, which made the whole experience feel even more frustrating. Definitely not worth the price or the trip.

Terrible service from check in, to tee off, to end. Hire better people that aren’t cold, rude, and downright unfit to interact with paying customers. 6 paying golfers that won’t be back and won’t be speaking highly about our experience. It’s no wonder the course was dead on a beautiful Saturday.

My second round of golf here and it was amazing. Love course layout, views are wonderful. I met a staff Mike who was very professional and we had a great conversation about the course and the surrounding area. I will return next time I am in the area

Was in Lake George for Americade 2025 this is a must on the list of scenic spots. Fantastic view of the lake and the mtns in Vermont. Didn't pay golf or attend an event but highly recommended checking out the views.

I don't even know where to begin.... I never leave reviews, but today's experience was really something.... The service was horrible, the staff was unfriendly and rude. Especially a staff member named Nathan was VERY racist!!! He followed us around throughout an entire course and constantly made aggressive remarks about what we should and shouldn't do. They also gave us oldest and dirtiest golf carts even though there were plenty of new carts available. The elderly lady at the check-out gave us an interesting attitude as if she was doing us a favor. I will never go back to a place with employe…

Had our family golf tournament there. Loved the views and layouts. The service however was maybe the worst I have experienced on a golf course. No drink cart or water on the course and not a pleasant experience with any staff member. From the bartenders to cart attendants they made it seem like they were doing us a favor by playing there and patronizing their course. I don't think I've ever left a a review on a golf course before but felt compelled to after such a low level of service. If you're in town and want to play golf I suggest looking elsewhere.

Service was not great. From the pro shop to the ranger. Rudeness seemed to be on the menu throughout our time there. Course is nice, but certainly got turned off by the staffs

Just came by to play golf, staying elsewhere in Lake George. Workers were very friendly but this was probably the most strangely designed course I’ve played in my life. Greens were in decent shape and the fairways and tee boxes were fine, just cut a bit too high. With that said, several holes on the course presented layouts that were pretty outrageous and fairways that never lended a flat lie. The 14th is a par 5 with a dogleg of about 100 degrees, 80 feet downhill with several big trees blocking an approach. Many of the greens were severely sloped and the 17th was by far the smallest I’ve see…

The course and greens were in good shape but I didn’t enjoy the layout. A lot of blind holes and close fairways - lots of errant shots from other fairways. It might be more enjoyable a second time when you know what to expect. A failure was course management. We had a Golfpass gift card - I called and was told sure, bring it in. We drove an hour and the guy on duty said it was processed on a different computer, that person wasn’t in, so he couldn’t accept it. There was no water on the course - it was a hot, sunny day. There was no ranger - it was slow play and no one there to move folks along.…
