In General The Towhee Club (formerly Towhee Golf Course) is an Arnold Palmer-designed layout just south of Nashville that's long, strategic, and full of potential—but it feels like it's stuck in a rough patch right now. At 6,807 yards from the tips, it demands length and accuracy, with rolling terrain, forced carries, and plenty of risk-reward opportunities that Palmer fans will appreciate. The modern clubhouse and freshly paved parking lot give a great first impression, and the GPS-equipped carts are a nice touch for navigation and scoring. That said, pace of play was a major buzzkill during…

As an intern in Spring Hill this summer, I was able to play 40+ rounds here, and I can say without a doubt that this course was great. Greens were in great shape and the Palmer design is quirky in a good way. Par 3s like 6 and 10 have bunkers on the side opposite to hazard areas (most courses use bunkers as "catching areas" for balls heading towards the woods) which makes you really focus on picking a good target. The par 5s are challenging and offer some good risk/reward decisions on 2nd shots. There are a couple spots of the front nine that could use work, like areas of the 3rd fairway and 6…

Not a golf expert, but this place was fun to play at and a great course! First time playing it and it was great!

I gave this course another chance after some growing pains that I experienced a couple of years ago. They exceeded my expectations. The course is in great shape, practice facilities are top notch for all parts of your game, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Pace of Play was pretty good, even though it was a somewhat busy Saturday afternoon. My group played Ready Golf. The new clubhouse bar and restaurant gives the property a golf resort feel. 5 star experience and good value for the price.

I’ve had a great experience at Towhee both playing rounds and taking lessons with Natalie Sheary. The course itself offers a fun but fair challenge, whether you’re just getting into golf or have been playing for years. What really sets this place apart for me, though, is the instruction I’ve received from Natalie Sheary. Whether a complete beginner, like I was, or looking to fine-tune specifics of your golf game, Natalie makes the instruction feel personalized and easy to understand. Lessons are affordable, easy to book online and she provides clear and specific feedback. Taking lessons with…

It's such a shame because I used to love this course and play it as much as I could, but Towhee has become greedy and overpriced in its new management. They don't give rain checks at all when it storms so you better hope it doesn't. They also stopped providing a complementary small bucket of range balls when checking in. Regarding pricing, first, my player's card membership increased. Then, the tee time prices changed under my membership so that, not only did they increase, but they also do not change throughout the day, so it's $75 whether you play at 8am or 7pm. They host an event at the clu…

I absolutely love playing at Towhee for my lessons with Natalie Scheary. The course is always in good condition, and the clubhouse is just as impressive—welcoming, clean, and well-maintained. Natalie is an outstanding instructor who makes every lesson enjoyable and informative. It’s such a great experience every time I’m there!

Towhee is easily the best public course south of Nashville. The course is completely renovated with fantastic green and bunker complexes, all new bridges, excellent turf. A brand new clubhouse and restaurant, Birdsong, polish off the complete restoration of this Arnold Palmer designed property. If you haven’t seen it since the restoration in 2020, you must. You will not be disappointed. Excellent food, staff, merch and golf.

Course is consistently in pretty great shape. Very friendly service on and off the course. The new clubhouse is pretty sweet as well. I would highly recommend this to anyone in the Nashville area, especially south of Nashville.

Outstanding semi-private golf course. Was in great shape, greens rolled smooth and very challenging pin placement. Friendly staff and helpful marshalls.

My buddy and I had a good time playing a round here. The overall layout of the course is well designed and the facilities are very nice. The restaurant and the club house is top tier. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and generous with free bottled water. However, I was not impressed with the tee box conditions or the greens themselves. Tee boxes were so hard trying to push a tee in the ground was a joke. Certain areas of the greens still looked under repair. Other parts of the greens rolled incredibly fast making 2-3 putts ordinary. The course is overall not very friendly to higher handic…

Boy do I hate doing this as Towhee has the potential to be one of the best courses in all of Tennessee. But they really need to stop worrying about the clubhouse and other amenities outside of golf and get back to focusing on the actual course itself. Considering this was a US Open qualifying site just last year the Current course conditions are an absolute slap in the face to Mr Palmer.
