What People Say
In summary
Valleywood Golf Course receives mixed feedback from visitors. Many appreciate the challenging layout with its rolling hills and doglegs, as well as the well-maintained fairways and greens. However, some guests express dissatisfaction with the high pricing, inconsistent customer service, and course conditions, including issues with cart paths and overall maintenance. There are also concerns about the management of tee times and the inclusivity of the course.

Man what happened to this course? My son and I played here tonight with a start time of 6:45. He has youth in course but we decided to ride so we could finish 9. The first scock was a evening 9 with YOC costing 65 dollars. We played because it’s important for his development… but to get stopped at 8 o’clock being told the 7th hole was our last was the nail in the coffin. We were playing with no one ahead of us and less then 10 minutes a hole. I’m extremely disappointed and will be spreading the word in my community about this. Misguided management and goals or maybe just teen age staff making…

Didn't see anything wrong with the fairways, greens, tee box, driving range and practice greens. We covered the track front to back and looks good. Cement cart paths will be a huge improvement

I walked onto this golf course carrying a life that was quietly falling apart. I didn't expect grass, air, and silence to save me - but somehow, they did. This course gave me a reason to wake up, to care, to believe that I could still choose a different ending. Every swing became a decision to stay alive. Every round pulled me further away from drugs, from numbness, from the slow destruction I didn't know how to stop before. The discipline, the patience, the honesty of the game forced me to face myself - not with shame, but with hope. This golf course didn't just change my perspective on life.…

Challenging course with lots of beautiful Rolling Hills and curvey green included with Friendly/Courteous staff makes for an excellent golfing experience. Definitely will return & recommend to all golfers!

This course reinforces the stereotype of golf being snobby and unwelcoming. Disappointed that a city-owned course isn’t more inclusive of all skill levels, especially when everyone pays the same. Multiple groups played through us mid-hole, which was not only rude but dangerous. This set us back, and instead of addressing the real issue, a ranger showed up just to berate us for being slow. If pace of play is so important, maybe start by keeping tee times on schedule—ours wasn’t. Try spacing them out more if you truly care about providing an “enjoyable experience for players of all ages and abil…

This course used to be fine, city course, not too pricey, its a tight and short course. But this year they upped it to $80 for 18 holes of golf and a cart... are you kidding me?? for a city owned course thats tight and short and honestly never in the best condition. Apple Valley must be running out of money if they need to charge $80 for that course

This is a local course for us. Not great by any means but close, and just fine for a round. As others have mentioned it is over priced for what you get. That being said they “partnered” with youth on course so that could make it more reasonable pricing. My son and his friend are on the golf team and needed to get a round in before the season. They are both YOC members so I was glad to see we could get them a reasonably priced round. I work and cannot join them during the week, but the other dad was able to get off work to drive them over and drop them off before heading back to the office. Whe…

My wife and I had our first golf lesson with LPGA pro Bethany Hakanon. She did a great job walking us thru the basics for our first time. Will definitely be back for more!

Had a chance to play Valleywood GC over the weekend. And I must say I did enjoy the experience. The fairway were in great shape. The greens rolled true and the staff was really nice. My issue with the place the price was a little steep. 75 dollars with a cart might be a little much.

Sub par attitudes and accountably for guests safety. I played here in leagues on Thursday nights. After playing a round with a fairly well known cheater who got in my face and loud I mocked his personality and got loud over him with zero intent to be violent. When I spoke to the club pro 2 weeks later he did nothing and told me it was my own fault. I was incredibly upset and asked to speak to the pro multiple times and even stopped in. One of the employees shared that he had heard the other side of the story and as the customer walking away from the establishment I was wrong. Poor business p…

No stars for this course, the cost was fine for 18 and a cart but the course was in horrible condition! The fairways were all burnt and looked either diseased or damaged from the wrong fertilizer mixing! Also every cart path whether it was asphalt or dirt had huge ruts and actual deep holes. Whomever is the turf manager should be replaced immediately!!! With this wet spring and summer there is no reason for the very poor condition this course was in! Valley wood used to be in lush condition, NOT NOW! I have golf at least 20 courses this season and this by far is the very worst. Won’t be back!…
