Southern Hills Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained greens, challenging layout, and accommodating staff, creating an enjoyable golfing experience. The course is noted for its good pace of play and thoughtful amenities, including digital scoring on golf carts. However, some visitors mention occasional overbooking of tee times and the absence of water stations as areas for improvement.

Fantastic golf course in the south metro. Greens roll true, tee boxes and fairways are well maintained. The pace of play was good, I played mid-day on a Sunday and was done in 4 hours. Lots of blind tee shots but this is a very fun golf course. Highly recommend!

Played Southern Hills on a Friday afternoon and finished just over 4 hours!! The course has a nice layout and was in great shape. The greens rolled very nice for a public track. I included a picture of the bunker rake which is not typical, but the sand is very fine, more like you would find on a high end private club. Highly recommend.

6/19/20: 12:42 tee time. We were there on what was an unusually busy Monday, a holiday. They seem to handle the customers well even though us old players are a little slower than we should be on the course, especially when shaking the rust off on the first hole. Seriously, I hadn't played for a year and a half, and when you're in your 70's a lot of Mulligans happen. I'd say the course was in great shape. It's the first time I played it. I found it a little hard to read the greens. They look extremely steep, so reading the slope or angle was really hard. When I thought they'd be fast, they were…

Good golf course. Has two putting greens and kind staff. The course is fun and the golf carts scoring is digital which is cool. The only bad thing is that the tee times and driving range can be overbooked and busy.

I can not say enough about this Golf course and the staff. My husband's 1 year anniversary of his death was on 6/16/2021. Bob absolutely loved golfing this course and I could not think of a better way to honor his life than to release some balloons from here with my 2 daughters and granddaughters. Not only did they allow us to do this, but they went out of their way to accommodate this and even let us use two of their golf cards. So that we could go out and choose the place that we would like to accomplish this. Thank you again for your compassion and kindness ❤ Sincerely the Dunham family!

Course is in good condition and pace of play was great for a Monday. Tee times are easy to get on short notice which is a welcome change compared to most courses. My only qualm is that there are no water stations available on the course. With some days still in the mid 80s and high humidity, it seems ill conceived to not have at least one water station available somewhere.

Great staff: From the pro, to the assistants, to food and beverage, to grounds keeping staff, these people care about the course and the enjoyment it provides. Some complain the course is short, not for me, challenging course with great grounds keeping.

First time out, course was in good shape. It was rough only with carts which was okay for the majority of the time. Would have liked to see the 90 degree rule but overall great experience. Will definitely be back again!

Very good golf course, with a good challenge if you are up to it. The course is striving to make improvements every year and it just continues to get better. There are options for the high handicap/beginner to play and enjoy a great round. There are some holes with OB near by. Make use of the provisional ball instead of having to walk back! The wind is what makes the difference on the course. There isn't an extraordinary amount of it, but each wind makes a different round. Par 5s can be reached by some of the longer hitters, and the par 4s are right in line with challenges along the way. Th…

Course is challenging and has some really fun design elements. I thought the greens were very beat up, ball marks not taken care of, etc....so the putting was not very enjoyable. They could go with a few more minutes between tee times. We were waiting at every hole.

I have to say that Sourhern Hills was a wonderful course. The clubhouse was great and nice bar space. The staff was friendly upon arrival. However, the handling off tee times was very odd. We were a two-some and fully were prepared to be paired up, and were told we were. We heard announcements being made and heard we were on deck with another group. We watched a two-some of teenage boys in a custom golf cart jump in front of the group that was supposed to tee off. The two-some jumping in front of the foursome that was caused delays the entire round. There was a ranger we saw at least a dozen t…

Recently tried out Southern Hills for the First Time. Overall a very positive experience. The course layout is very fun and dynamic, a couple of blind tee shots but not too many. Greens ran pretty slow when I played, but in good shape. The staff were also very accommodating, I was golfing solo and their where three foursomes ahead of me and they kindly moved me to start on the back so I could have a better pace of play experience which was great to see. Finished the round in about 3hrs and 15 minutes by myself. My only gripe, while I have seen other reviews comment it, I do think its just a t…
