In summary

Van Buskirk Park Golf Club offers a fun and challenging layout with long holes and a mix of par 3s, 4s, and 5s, appreciated by many for its affordability and friendly staff. However, the course has faced criticism for its lack of maintenance, with issues such as closed back nine holes, uneven cart paths, and inconsistent food quality in the restaurant. While some visitors enjoy the overall experience and amenities, others feel the course requires significant improvements to reach its full potential.

It was a fun course for the price we paid on Tee Off but you can tell it hasn't been taken care of that well. But for an amateur golfer like myself it's a good course to play at. Will visit again!

I have been playing Van Buskirk since moving to Stockton almost twenty years ago, it was my favorite course for several reasons, a playable front nine and a very tough back nine, a decent sandwich in the restaurant and an ability to get on any time seven days a week. I am sad to note I have played it for the last time in its current condition. The course shows very little in the way of maintenance, the back nine has been closed for a long time with no sign it will ever reopen, as is the pro shop (one pays at the restaurant) and the food is now hit or miss with an employee who seems not to car…

Just a horrible experience all around. The course could definitely use some work and both the service and the food left something to be desired as well. The french fries had this weird color to them for some reason. My guess is that the oil in the deep fryer hadn't been changed in awhile. It's almost as if nobody cares anymore. It was pretty bad.

Great service very accommodating we had 2 more players show up than expected the other golfers on the course were very friendly we asked them to go through us and they said thank you play your golf and have fun its friday. Plus we played in 4 hrs 15 minutes pretty good for winter golf rough a little high in some areas. Ok now the course we played 6" bump fairways only and that's all you needed overall course conditions ran about 7.5 out of 10 we travel around to various courses and any score above 6 in winter time is fantastic. One suggestion maintenance crew must spike greens to soften up sur…

Little puddles in the morning but nice and green! Long holes: (4) par 5s, (10) par 4s, (4) par 3s. 4 water tee offs were fun (i cleared two and skipped off two). $32 each including cart for two. Call them for costs. I have been twice, I will go there again.

Not many golfers 20 bucks with cart after 3 lots of ground squirrels so some places really beat the tar out of ya driving cart! Otherwise greens we're in good shape most of the sand traps gone they're now grass?

Very nicely maintained. The proximity to a "rough" part of town does not effect the course, but be aware... especially on the back nine. I have never had a problem.

The City of Stockton is not spending much time or money maintaining the course needs some TLC the cart paths are almost non existence and uneven with deep ruts, you need to be alert when using the carts, but all in can be a decent course again with some good maintenance.

Used to gold here as a kid back in the early 80's. Last time I golfed here a few months ago, it was try and in need of a lot of maintenance. Wish they would rehab this course.
