In summary

Ware Shoals Golf Course is frequently praised for its friendly staff, affordable pricing, and family-friendly atmosphere, making it a popular choice for local golfers. Many visitors appreciate the improvements made to the course conditions, particularly the greens, and enjoy the challenging layout. However, some criticisms include inconsistent course maintenance, such as areas with poor fairway conditions and overgrown bunkers, as well as a lack of signage and course maps, which can make navigation difficult for newcomers.

Great 9 hole course, very kid friendly as I play with my 3 kids who's ages are 5,8,and 10. Honestly there is nothing but good to say about it we love going as a family and everyone is understanding of the kids and encourages them and always gives them something. Staff are super nice and the golf carts aren't electric and controlled by some crazy gps system that shuts you down and tells you to reverse while your on the actual cart path like we have had issues with on other courses and price is awesome to play. Plenty of drinks and snacks and golf supplies we have never been disappointed.

Tough greens that are small with runoffs all around. Short, wide open, links style layout if you want to "let it out" off the tee. Fairways were descent, although many areas off the fairways are in pretty poor condition It was still a fun, challenging course to play.

Nice 9 hole course, reasonable price. Played 12-27-2021 so clear winter conditions but certainly playable. Requires a wee bit of course knowledge for a couple holes but mostly can figure out best approaches. Would definitely play here again.

Enjoyed it. Will definitely bring my clubs with me when I come back home to visit. Really impressed with the greens!

Played in February so not going to harp on conditions for winter golf. Course is challenging with the hills and firm, little grass to hit off of fairways. No transitions to a rough and some existing bunkers were grown in with grass. It's great there's a golf course in Ware Shoals for the good ole boys, but $20 for 9 holes is high for what you're getting.

UPDATE: Unfortunately I need to update my review. I've played a fair # of times since the new ownership, and I'm not a fan of some of the changes. The improved: - Sand traps that still exist are much better - Tee boxes have seen some improvement ... but thats about it. If wouldn't mind the price increases if not for... The ugly: - Mid-week fee for 9 holes is up about 50% over a short period of time to $20. Wouldn't be a huge deal if not for the below... - Instead of fixing the vast majority of traps, they just let most grow over into grass. This dramatically reduces the difficulty of the cou…

The course was in really good shape considering the August heat. They have done a lot to improve the course conditions. It's still lacking a few amenities, but overall, it has come a long way from last year.

Trash. Red dirt and rocks all in the fairways. Pretty much a cow pasture with greens. The greens have dandelions growing in them. You have to wear full golf attire. And yes the rates were raised from 14$ and 20$ to 18$ and 24$ On the weekends so why lie about it? If I could give less than 1 star then I would.

No signage for any holes. No course map. The only way I found my way around the track was to follow the cart in front of me. Cart paths and fairways were terrible, greens were not great 😕.
