Welk Resort San Diego

Well designed course. One of my faves. Perfect for any level golfer. Mainly par 3s with a quiet setting. Surrounded by the resort and hillside. Good practice putting greens and a decent chipping area. No driving range. They don't accept cash payments, even for cart bevs or at the snack shack. But tipping the attendants cash is cool. I also like that cart is included with tee time.

BEWARE Hyatt members! They really just cater to the time share owners. I was really disappointed from beginning to end! I did document all of the problems and took photographs and videos. I’ll leave some of them here for verification. I requested several times to speak with someone from management, but went unheard! Problems with engineering, maintenance, housekeeping and front desk. Without notice, someone entered our room to locate a router that was not even located in our room and of course apologized because they told him that the room was vacant. Great course but the pace of play is way too slow. Took me four hours for 16 holes mid week. Marshall needs to be out there enforcing pace of play standards. It wasn’t even fully booked, maybe half fully… and mind you it’s only a par 62… I just left at hole 16 as i was so upset.

The Welk Resort was great. Monday Farmers market is a must. Wednesday night concerts and live music on Saturdays with Jackson should not be missed. You have everything you need once you arrive you don’t have to go far. Make sure and tour the winery and car museum next door. Great wine and the largest convertible collection to see in the USA!!

I would've probably given it 5 1/2 stars if it wasn't for the greens today (January 2024). The grass was and fairway was pretty green everywhere, greens just super bumpy and you could not read them right. Otherwise, the views are beautiful and everybody's really nice.

Very nice for family vacations or a couples get away. Beautiful landscaping, plenty of outdoor activities. Staff is amazing 👏 We keep coming back, and will continue to do so. 😎🌸🌼

Beautifully done! Enjoyed my stay! Clean, elegant and much like a home way from home…great place to relax and unwind… I like cooking so the rooms are perfectly set and ready for any chef

A true resort Enjoyed staying and playing at Welk. Our room was perfect with a view onto the golf course. It was ground floor and flowed out to the grass with golf activity all day long. Went to a couple of shows which were great. Plenty of pool options, great staff and a great vibe. Thanks heaps for a great stay

Played the Fountains. Nice and green course for California. Very relaxing. I was a single walk on and played with a very nice group. The fountains is a part 4. Staff was very nice

Fun great condition and good play

We love the course. It’s always in great condition. The last two Saturday tournaments we have joined (St Patrick’s Day and the recent Hawaiian) they have let out as many groups before the tournament as possible. We had to wait at least 10-15 min at each tee box to tee off. We will not be joining a tournament here again unless the ensure at least a two hour gap after the last public player before the tournament. I have worked here when I was in college (2018) and we never forced this many players on the course at the same time.

Swung by to play 18 on Sunday around 1pm. The staff in the Pro Shop were pleasant and the price for the quality of that course was awesome. Definitely one of the best courses in San Diego county for that price. As a member, you also get a great discount on the round and rentals. Sunset was incredible, and I am glad I spent my Sunday with friends!
