I had a 2:10 pm tee time at Native Oaks Golf Club this past Sunday and was hoping to finish all 18 before sunset. The front nine moved at a great pace and the course itself was in excellent condition. Fairways are fairly wide but the layout is still challenging, and the greens rolled true all day. Unfortunately, the back nine slowed to a crawl. The group ahead of us was playing from the tips, hitting multiple tee shots, and at one point they were even giving detailed lessons on the tee box while several groups stacked up behind them trying to beat sunset. It really felt like this was a situat…

Hidden gem! Only 15 min up the road from Vineyard. This track is a good test without being unfair. Plenty of tee boxes to suit your handicap. Great staff, great practice facility. More importantly, the tee boxes and fairways and greens are well maintained. One of the best deals you can find in all SD county.

Played course again on 26 April 2025. I am changing my rating from 4 stars to 5 stars from last summer. Since living in southern california, Native Oaks has been one of my top choices. For one the course is always well kept. Greens roll true, fairways well taken care of, bunkers have plenty of sand, and the course layout is challenging and fun. Secondly, the staff. Those guys and gals are warm welcoming and make you feel like family. The gentlemen in the pro shop are always nice, the starters outside have always been gentlemen to me, and the ladies at the kitchen always have a smile on their f…

Trackman range which was nice. No cell service almost on the entire course. Good to be focused and in the moment but not good when I use my phone for golf GPS and score/shot tracking via app. Was very impressed and surprised how nice this course was. It’s top 3 most beautiful courses in SD. (Torrey and maderas) Lots of green trees (rare in SD) and variety, along with excellent conditions. A bit far drive for me but worth it I’d say. This course is better than arrowood imo.

Native Oaks is a well kept San Diego course with solid practice facilities, some challenging moments on the course, and a good layout with nice views. About the practice area: on the range, each mat has its own screen with a trackman that you can log into with your trackman account. Next to that is a very nice putting green to work out your putter on. In the course: my overall impression is that the fairways were fairly wide, forgiving, and there were some challenging moments throughout. Oh the front nine, you’re are playing alongside some horse stables, around some lakes, and up alongside…

Played Sat 4/4. I was very impressed by the conditions, everything was excellent. Even the greens, which were recovering from aeriation a couple weeks prior, (which they provided ample disclosure of) putted pretty smoothly and maybe just a bit slower than average. The starter was very friendly and helpful. Troon usually maintains their courses better than others and this showed at Native Oaks. Layout was plenty fun and challenging, nice quiet piece of land for golf.

So listen, i don't reviews often, but could not keep quiet about this place. Recently i flew to visit my daughter in San Diego, my trip is never complete without hitting a few balls. This trip, my friend and i visited @nativeoakgc for the first time. When i say Native Oaks is easily one of the top courses in Southern California. The greens are pristine and each hole offers it's own unique challenges. The course demands precision, with touch par 3s. The staff was fantastic especially Steve the starter. Overall this course combines beautiful scenery excellent conditions and a welcoming team, mak…

Great location, great mountainous course. Really good shape right now. Really appreciate variety of tee boxes for lengths. Personell from office to grille to cart barn were exceptional. Winner, winner.

Is a great course. Everyone was very courteous and professional. Thank you for the ice towels and cold water throughout the round it was much appreciated. Hope to be back soon. Everything at this course is very well maintained, the back nine is where the challenges are. Some great signature tee boxes and greens.

Best kept greens of any public golf course I played this whole summer...the greens are better than Torrey pines. The greens are fast and well manicured. The fairways was tighter than your average golf course and the Par 3's was very challenging. Each Par 3 had a water obstacle that you had to overcome. Overall, a great course at a great price of $37 for seniors. The beverage cart was well stocked and rolling throughout the course. Can't wait to play the course in late October when the fall colors come out.

Played Oct 26,2025. The course had posted they were doing maintenance from 1-31. Although the rough was 3-6" and the fairways were 2-2.5" the course played ok. The greens were fantastic as they rolled at a good speed. Almost all putts were straight. Loved the layout and hope to get back to CA from Kansas City and play it when you get some roll in the fairways and the rough is more playable. The starter and manager were so great. The starter told me the correct tee boxes and how to play the course....especially after he learned I was a starter at my course in Kansas City. The manager was so ple…
