In summary

Westwood Municipal Golf Club is praised for its well-maintained course, scenic layout with challenging and diverse holes, and reasonable pricing, making it a popular choice among locals and visitors. The staff generally receives positive feedback, although some patrons have found them to be less than friendly. Common criticisms include slow pace of play, occasional course dryness, and issues with course navigation due to ongoing construction.

Pace of play was poorly spaced & consistently behind the entire time with people playing on top of us, majority of the patrons were not great & don't understand golf etiquette, staff wasn't rude but they weren't nice either, they clearly don't spray for bugs whatsoever (the amount of wasps we encountered & that my husband got stung by outnumbers the amount we've seen in our lives), and honestly the course just isn't that fun to play, not very unique or memorable. Not an enjoyable experience as out-of-towners, we don't have a reason to come back, so we won't. The clubhouse & the greens (that we…

I am giving a review because the dog park and golf course are right across from each other and I was technically at the dog park which is a wonderful place to take your dogs huge spacious areas, clean up bags, one of the areas is huge that is fenced-in and they have another area adjacent to that that is also fenced-in that you can put one of the fur babies in case they don't get along with others and that particular area. At this time of year bring your own water if you plan on staying very long for your animal because of the freezing weather the faucet for water has been shut off. As for West…

This course is very well maintained which is a big plus, very challenging on the front with the hills, but opens up on the back. Brad does a fantastic job

Beautiful course. Nice that it has a grass tee driving range and big putting green. The greens are fast downhill and slow uphill, but they are tricky. The one thing I didn’t like was there were scuff marked around the pin a bit. Nothing they can’t fix though.

Beautiful course. Rough not too rough, many out of bound opportunities so hit'em straight!

FYI - Currently under construction Course seems well taken care of. They are under construction currently and using a storage container which was interesting but hey it works! The new clubhouse looks like its gonna be pretty badass. The staff was..... well they managed to get us what we needed, they weren't rude but not friendly either. With the construction there was a lot of confusion as to the direction of the course and what order the holes were supposed to be played.

Pretty nice golf course it's fun to play Greens are in good shape fairways could use some work maybe it was just me but it seems like I was in a divot or a low spot the whole round All in all it's worth playing.

Love at 1st sight! Reason for 4 stars? DRY! Oct 2, and the course is REALLY dry. BUT this is a fantastic course! Terrific terrain, very challenging holes, scenic views and great elevated tee boxes. Full of great old trees, yet plenty of room for errant drives. 1st time, won't be my last! City-owned, so that may explain the lack of water. This is a hidden gem!

Played my first round of golf of the season here. Had a wonderful time. Great course, well maintained, and very hospitable staff. Some very serious holes and some that let you swing away! AND ONLY $30 for 18 with a cart! I have paid $90 for lesser couses.. Coming back every chance I get.

Great course! Not to busy either. Kind of tight, which is great if you fight a slice.Staff was great, and I played a great back nine despite the heat. Plenty of shade if waiting on a slower group. I'll be back for sure! Only 20 min from Altoona!

Been here quite a few times. For the most part staff is ok but there is a few that are extremely rude. Don’t bother asking for an extra cart if you only have 2 golfers because it’s a big issue. Thought this was a public golf course. Even though the price is exactly the same per person with a cart for both, 4 players and 2. Played on a Saturday morning and took over 5 hrs. Because the tee times were way to close to each other. I am a Newton resident and appalled by the way I was treated. I will not waste my money here anymore nor will I recommend to anyone I know.
