In summary

Willow Lake Golf Club is appreciated for its beautiful setting and challenging layout, with many players noting the course's well-maintained fairways and greens. The staff is often described as friendly and accommodating, enhancing the overall experience. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about ongoing construction, inconsistent pricing, and maintenance issues, particularly with the cart paths and tee boxes. Additionally, the lack of signage and communication about course closures has been a point of frustration for some guests.

For a small town country club that is 60 years old I was surprised at the condition of the course. The fairways and greens were in great shape, the greens smaller than average, but the norm as I have experienced it. Played it as one of the courses while staying at Sam Hill State Park…I would go back, and put it on your too play list

For as much work as they’ve done in the past year to the front nine, you’d think it would be much better quality. Layout is really weird, and none of the holes are labeled and don’t really match what is on the score card. Definitely do not recommend if you’re a beginner or here for the first time alone.

Very overpriced for the quality of the course. Played the front 9 and there was construction everywhere. The price online is not the same as in person, they are definitely over charging. People on the pro shop were not attentive and sat on their phones when needing assistance.

I wanted this course to be a good one but it has several places that need a lot of work. The tee boxes are ate up, some don’t have a grassy spot to set up your feet or the golf ball. The cart paths need completely removed and replaced it will beat you from hole 1 to 18. The placement of tee boxes to greens is very poorly designed, it feels dangerous several times. The first tee box for my wife is in direct line of fire from the practice range, if they would have moved it to the other side of the fairway that would fix this one. Other than that we enjoyed playing it once, won’t be back.

I would love to give this course 5 stars but who charges the prices they are charging when half your course is under repair? You dont even have a putting green right now. And if you think you will get a deal by bringing your own cart, forget about it. They are going to charge you a cart fee regardless. Only reason for 2 stars is it is a great layout course. Owners and operators have ruined this course.

Very fun course for players of all skills. Course was well maintained. However, due to lots and lots inclement weather some spots were harder to deal with. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. I would Recommend this course and would love to come back

Drove over an hour from Sav to find that the front 9 was completely closed and still charged full price?? Apparently it slipped their mind when I was booking my tee time.

Made a tee time for Monday. Over an hour drive from Savannah. When we arrived, signs posted front 9 closed. They didn't bother telling me that over the phone. Back 9 was in horrible shape. I'll never be back.

Overall I really liked the course but as others had mentioned, it needs some maintenance. Staff is very friendly, nice golf carts, minimal clubhouse. Grounds keeping was decent, needs some tee box maintenance (players should fix their divots too) and cart paths are horrible; would be better to walk.
