Woodbine Bend Golf Course

This is another awesome course!!! If you are around Galena. IL area this is a must try Golf Course... I played this in Oct 2025 and the course was extremely well maintained. The Green Fee is a winner!!! Electric Carts with GPS. Links style course that is easy to moderately hard for all skill levels. Very friendly and helpful staff!!!

Very nice golf course. It sits so well on the land. It was in excellent condition and if this was in an urban area it would be a $70 course. The greens are very good with lots of breaks. Reminds me of a "mini" Erin Hills with the rolling terrain and grasses.

Staff was amazing! Food was on point. Had the bourbon bacon burger and curds and BLT wrap and fries! Wow. Great. Probably local beef I bet. Sort of had a smoked in smell of I'm honest. Would come back for sure.

Nice course, well- kept playing conditions. Not the longest course and you can get away with some errand tee shots. Bonus, the food is excellent.

My group came out on Labor day, 2019. The course wasn't busy at all. The lady running the pro shop recommended the back 9 so we played that. Course was in perfect shape. I really liked some of the blind tee shots on holes 10-13. I can't wait to come back and play the whole 18. Great place!

What can I say other than you just gotta stop and experience for yourself. The course. Such a fun and challenging course. The conditions are always top notch. Tee boxes are some of the best and the greens roll great with challenging reads. The layout is a great challenge with blind shots, uneven lies, soft sand bunkers and fun approaches into the green. Great atmosphere with live entertainment in the bar on the Friday night that we visited. Friday night ayce Fried Pollack had an amazingly good crispy coating. (2) Lobster Tail special, the lobster was good. The rice "pilaf " was more like flavored white rice and had an odd taste. The Sausage Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms are a must! Friendly prompt service. Each course came out promptly, with hardly no wait in between them. Our first time here and overall the meal was good. We'll go back again.

Played this course for the first time today, and we were very impressed by the quality and conditions. The carts are new electric versions with GPS and built-in chargers and a cooler. The clubhouse is very nice, and food and drinks are much better than most golf courses. The course itself was in excellent condition; fast greens with lots of challenging contour and fairways that wide enough but also rolling so that you may have a side hill lie. Such a fun atmosphere! Loving the weekend music and recently played live piano bar bingo, it was a howling good time!

Always have a good meal at Woodbine’s Restaurant. I had an excellent prime rib this most recently visit. The Bluegill is always a must try! We frequent he restaurant a few times yearly while visiting our summer home.

After 30 years, in the golf industry as a golf course superintendent, you won't find a better conditioned course. Pick the tee box to your ability and it will challenge you to your talent. Fast greens, anything from a breeze to wind, uphill and down hill lies, you'll either walk away beat up or happy you were up to the challenge.
