In summary

Aviara Golf Club is frequently praised for its beautiful setting, well-maintained greens, and challenging layout that caters to golfers of all skill levels. The staff and amenities are generally well-regarded, contributing to a high-quality experience. However, some visitors express dissatisfaction with the condition of the fairways and the value for money, particularly given the high cost of playing.

Every hole feels intentional—lush, immaculately kept, and framed by coastal breezes and rolling terrain that keep you thinking on every shot. The layout is challenging but fair, rewarding smart play without ever feeling punishing. Greens are pristine, bunkers are sculpted perfectly, and the pace of play actually respects your day. What really sets Aviara apart is the vibe: calm, polished, and quietly world-class. The service is dialed, the practice facilities are top-tier, and the views make you pause mid-round just to take it in. It’s the rare course that feels like a tournament venue and a…

Golf course review. I have pretty high standards. Impressive layout 5/5. Impressive landscaping 5/5. Very nice greens 5/5. Tee boxes were a bit mediocre 2.5/5. Fairways were decent 3/5. I know grass doesn’t grow all that well around San Diego. Is any round of golf worth that kind of money … debatable.

The course looks and feels like a botanical garden with smooth fairways and fast greens. Beautiful views from every tee box, huge greens, and strategic water hazards that seemed to be exactly where my ball wanted to be. A little pricey, but I don't play here every week.

What an amazing course, I could say this is a very well taken course with amazing scenery and landscape. The only hole that needs some attention number 17. Besides that the staff was very attentive, and a great experience with challenging course.

My stay at this hotel was truly luxurious. The room was spacious, with a king-size bed and a large bathroom featuring a rain shower and separate bathtub. The hotel boasts a beautiful indoor pool and a state-of-the-art fitness center. The spa offered excellent treatments, including massages and facials. The staff were professional and friendly, providing impeccable service from check-in to check-out. Dining at the on-site restaurant was a highlight, with exquisite dishes and an extensive wine list.

Just finished playing here and I will tell you the design of the course is fantastic. A lot of rememberable holes, flowers planted in the perfect spots, cool water falls as well. The course is challenging but fair. The conditions of the course were pretty bad. Greens were very nice but fairways were horrible. A lot of time you were hitting off dirt. We paid close to $350 a person and expected much more at that price point. If they can fix up the fairways I would recommend this course but at that current conditions I would not recommend paying what we paid.

I was here for a corporate retreat and played the course in a scramble and used the practice facilities on a separate day. The resort itself was great. The golf course was pretty disappointing if I am being candid. The greens were great, very challenging and in good if not great shape. The fairways were shockingly bad, in all fairness maybe its a seasonal thing but I would think southern CA like my home state of FL would maintain good conditions year round. Lots of invasive grass and weeds and a plethora of bald spots. Very hard to imagine an LPGA event being played here. I think the course wo…

Beautiful course, challenging holes. But, if you don't like slow play, then this is not the course for you. There were 4 groups stacked up on the tee, and the "player assistant" wouldn't do anything about the slow group. He actually said "You're just playing faster than them". No, they are playing slower than everyone!

Fantastic! The golf course was excellent. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, with an abundance of range balls available to use. The putting green speed matched the actual course greens perfectly. The course is well-designed for golfers of all skill levels, and the fairways, greens, and fringes were in perfect condition. Everything was outstanding! I just wish they offered a beer special, like a discount on a six-pack. I ended up paying $12 for an imported beer and $10 for a domestic one... 😅

Aviara Golf Course, home of the LPGA Kia Classic and located next to the Park Hyatt, is beautifully maintained with large trees, small hazards, and well-kept landscaping. That said, it’s not an easy or playful course—it’s a tough challenge from start to finish.

Played course on 16 October 2024. Great treatment from the staff from start to finish. Extra shoutout to the man working in the pro shop that morning at around 945. He was very polite and made me feel welcome. The course has great amenities such as a cart girl, snack bar, multiple nice restrooms on the course, a bar, and a nice restaurant from what I hear. As for the course they have a full size range with complimentary balls and a nice putting/chipping area. The course is in great conditions from the tee box to the greens. Great course layout with multiple elevation challenges. Greens rolls g…
