In summary

Baker National Golf Club is highly praised for its beautiful setting within the Baker National Park Reserve, offering well-maintained courses with challenging layouts and excellent practice facilities. The Championship and Evergreen courses cater to different skill levels, and the club is appreciated for its affordability and additional amenities like a driving range and winter cross-country skiing. However, some visitors have raised concerns about slow pace of play and occasional staff issues, which have impacted their experiences.

Worst pace of play ever. Had three groups bunched up on nearly all of the par fours today. Rangers did nothing about it, and management said it’s normal to wait 15m on tee shots. This place is going downhill quickly.

What a fantastic course. Set back in the Baker National Park Reserve this place is a wonderful example of a well maintained and well managed public golf course. You simply can’t beat the driving range of your looking for someplace to get s a lot of practice in. Very affordable rates.

What a tremendous facility in the West Metro. The course is a gem that is 18 holes of Championship golf that is set up to all to play, and will give anyone a challenge that wants to step back to the tips. The course is kept in great shape. We played just after a fair way arriation and it was barely noticeable just 48 hours later. They lay out is well suited to the landscape so you have all you want in some great straight holes of golf and a few with a slight bend to them. Greens are quick.

Had never heard of this course until a friend recommended we check it out. Would give a 4.5 if that was an option, but will lean towards a 5 as had a great experience overall. Very challenging course w/ a number of interesting holes. Greens were very fast and undulating, and also in very good shape. Only complaint is the pace of play at nearly a 5 hour round, but it happened to be an absolutely flawless weather day on Labor Day weekend so won't hold that against them too much.

The Championship Course is the best public course in the area, without a doubt. It's a truly fun test. With the hilly architecture, big bunkers, holes along Lake Spurzem, and the whole back nine carved in through the beautiful wooded Baker Park Reserve -- this place has it all! On top of that, they have a massive driving range with two decks, two large practice putting greens, and a fun executive nine.

Nice course well maintained a little wet due to heavy rains the day before. Cons, we made reservations for 18 holes with a cart and carts weren't allowed on course due to wet fairways. Due to the non cart use we only played 9 holes being tired and rain threatening. The course gave us rain checks for the back 9 holes. I only gave four stars because we weren't aware that carts would not be available otherwise this is a 5 star course. Course Ranger was friendly and the front desk was very helpful in getting rain checks.

Never play this course Me and some work friends decided to play 18 after work for twilight. Round was good but we only made it through 11 holes. The following day we received a call from the course saying they were fining us for damage to the grass. We are all respectful golfers who have been playing for many years and would never damage a golf course. We have no say in the matter and were told we were getting a $250 bill and if we did not pay it the cops were getting involved. This is extremely unprofessional and down right wrong. I am upset that the staff were the reason I won’t play this c…

Youth on Course price cannot be beat. Gorgeous course. Lots of rolling hills. Well maintained. Two choices of championship course or executive course. There were tons of mosquitoes during the twilight hour on Memorial Day.

Beautiful Beast of Burden that will beat you up if hit without conviction. Sleeping Beauty graced these true velvet rolling greens. Imagination and an engineering degree to be successful on this track. This is a Top Ten Course to play if in the Minneapolis area.

A very beautiful place. We visited in winter and it is perfect for crosscountry skiing. Inside the main building you can buy snacks or rent equipment.

THE Evergreen course is in very good condition. The course is rather hilly so it is a good walk since no power carts are allowed in November. The high of 72 degrees on Friday 15 , Novembre 2025 was the latest the Twin Cities had reached 72 degrees. Thus am grateful we can still golf despite the " Slow play " from the fivesome ahead. The one-word motivational quotes on the granite rock by the tee boxes is very inspirational . Like perseverance, integrity, sportsmanship, gratitude, friendship. etc. There are two yardage markers at each tee box blue and orange. It is NOT necessarily " men and wom…

Great public course and facility, and affordable for what you get compared to a private course. The smaller Greens course is good for beginner or less serious golfers. well maintained and in good shape. also a great winter time cross country skiing area.
