Ballantrae Golf Club

Ballantrae's fairways are so soft and well maintained. Your irons will go through the grass like a hot knife in butter. In terms of difficulty, the fairways are large but the greens can be tough. Elevated, turtle back greens. Nearly all your putts will be sidewinders. They have a decent driving range. And theres a little robot that goes around the course cutting the grass!(see pics) Thanks lil guy!

Very beautiful golf course, comfortable environment, and good service attitude of the staff. The only drawback is that you can't pick up the car first and then pick up the golf bag. As a lady, it is a bit difficult to carry the golf bag from the parking lot to the teeing point. Everything else is very satisfactory!

Probably my favourite course within 30 minutes of York Region. The pace of play is consistently great — the marshals do a fantastic job keeping things moving smoothly. Course conditions are excellent: wide fairways, well-maintained grounds, and greens that are both quick and challenging. It can be tough to snag a tee time, but whenever a spot opens up, my group always chooses Ballantrae. The value is also great — green fees are fair and include a complimentary small bucket of range balls to warm up. This golf course is always in the best shape it can be. Greens are rolled daily and cut 3-4x weekly. Standard 11-12 on stimp is the norm. Great layout by Doug Carrick. Staff is wonderful. Green fee is WAY under what it could be.

20250907 816 tee time. Forgot to mention the fact that you have 4 hours to play before 10am is an Excellent idea. Other golf courses should do the same thing. It eliminated slow play for weekend play!!! Beside that, it's one of the best public golf courses, period. Always in Excellent condition. Friendly service!

I've played many courses, and this place is the best among public courses. The price is great as well. The fairways are well-maintained like carpet, and the greens are so fast. All the staff are extremely nice. Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed my time here, the staff were friendly and tried to keep the pacing of the groups. The greens and fairways are in very good condition, and the neighborhoods beside really add to the aesthetics! I enjoyed the difficulty level and i think for beginners, the course is quite friendly as the red tee will avoid most hazards (specifically ones that would make you lose balls)

Great golf course with good warm up facilities that many lack (range grass/mat tees, putting, chipping including sand bunker). Great conditions on course - fast and elevated greens and wide fairways. Marshals are a bit over aggressive but I get that is their job.

By far the worst golfing experience I’ve had in 7 years. I’ve played at many courses and never dealt with such poor service and lack of accountability. Our tee time was at 4:30. The course was completely backed up because the 4 groups in front of us were extremely slow. They dragged the game out, only played 9 holes, and clearly didn’t care that the sun was going down. The marshal on duty was kind and tried to help, but unfortunately, the front desk staff had a terrible attitude and zero professionalism. We didn’t reach the 9th hole until 6:50, which says everything about how badly the pace…

The pace of play was a complete mess—stacked groups everywhere because of slow 9-hole players ahead. By hole 11 we were forced off the course, unable to finish what we paid for. The front desk was rude, dismissive, and offered no help whatsoever. Easily one of the worst-run courses I’ve ever played. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Lovely Florida style seniors community built around a great golf course. The course is kept in great condition, a number of holes with tabletop greens, that run fast and true. The property also has a community center with tennis courts.

This is an absolutely beautiful course and carries so many special memories for me. Everything is in such pristine condition and it is such a bonus that they have Marshalls to keep all the groups on pace. The food is great as well and they have specials every day! Everyone from management to the servers are just wonderful. My friends and I all highly recommend this golf course!
