I have had the pleasure of playing at Barrington Hall the last few years. I quickly realized it was/is a historic and significant course to Macon. The new ownership has expedited noticeable improvements in all areas of the property and every upgrade adds to the course’s playability. There is a clear plan that is being implemented. Highly recommend this course for first timers and those who haven’t played BH in a while.

Owner Jeff Moody has the course in outstanding shape. Greens are fast and beautiful. Fairways were clear of leaves and debris. Prices were very reasonable. We had a foursome come up from Tampa, FL for the weekend. We all have committed to come back. 10/11/25

Someone posted that the greens were good. That's pretty accurate overall... However the rest of the course is in FULL disrepair. It's hard to describe this I know it was bought recently. Maybe it's future has hope? . I've never seen an open course in a condition like this!!! .. 1 example the cart paths on one hole were overgrown with brush and pine straw... if you could find the cart path... just drive the fairways for a smoother ride. Indescribable. It's open to play. Do you like weeds? Trees and branches down everywhere. Dirt tee boxes. Ga clay traps. 1 trap on the whole course had sand. Mos…

We had a really good meal. Cajun salmon and the meat lasagna. We will be back. Had the meat lasagna again, the chicken quesadilla and had flatbread as an appetizer. All great. Oh, the ribs were outstanding

Played the front nine yesterday. Greens were in decent shape as were the fairways. Tee boxes were hit and miss. I understand it is a work in progress - so maybe the cart paths will be next…? They were treacherous in places and in a couple of spots so bad that the “alternate” path taken is now like a two rut dirt road. Better cart paths and a more reasonable price (I paid $30 for nine holes and 1/2 a cart - not terrible but too much for the quality of the course) would make this a very attractive option.

This place could return to the gem it was once, but it will take $$$$ and effort to do so. You can't expect golfers to be the ones to foot the cost of what it will take. How does one justify having a driving range and being out of balls by 0900 hrs. How do you charge $30, just for 9 holes, and 95% of your tee boxes are dirt with hardly any grass. Cart path is so treacherous and neglected that golfers are making their own paths. This place still needs a lot of work, and it appears either the funds ran out or the owner(s) just stopped working on the punch-out list. Living close by, I want this p…

Played Barrington Hall this past Sunday (7/27) and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. First off, the pricing listed online was $38, but when we arrived, we were told it was $45. When I asked about the difference, the staff member casually said, “We can’t control that.” That’s not acceptable. As a business, it’s your responsibility to ensure your online listings are accurate. It felt misleading, and there was zero effort to honor the posted rate or explain why it was different. As for the course itself honestly, it was in poor shape. The tee boxes, especially on the front nine,…

I’m dropping 5 stars on Barrington Hall, and here’s why. This is a fantastic layout—**challenging, fun, and scenic**. It has long, rewarding driving holes where a great tee shot really pays off, along with strategic approaches that make you think. That alone is worth three stars. As of Thanksgiving 2025 Barrington Hall is absolutely on the way up. The greens were smooth and rolled well and you can tell the course is trending in the right direction. New carts, new cart paths under construction and a genuinely solid group of guys who clearly care about creating a positive experience for every…

Nice place for a tournament to hold the setup and awards ceremony. Last year the Big Henry was held here. Great times were had by all!

Save your money and go to jones county, was expecting a nicer course for 118.00 with military discount for two and was very disappointed, cart paths were terrible needed a side by side, and the greens were very hard, fairways were very dry and hard as well and many of the bunkers were red clay.. Can play jones county or Bowden which are as good if not better shape for under 20 dollars for 18 holes Don’t know how they can charge 118.00 dollars for this course

Miserable experience, bring a side by side for the cart paths. Ground is like playing on concrete. Save your money and play at Bowden or Jonesco. I rank this course like playing at a basic muni.
