River North Golf Course in Macon, GA, is known for its challenging layout, offering an engaging experience for golfers looking for a test. However, the condition of the course during my visit was less than ideal. The grass in many parts of the course was dead, leading to muddy areas that impacted play. Additionally, the greens were inconsistent, with many showing significant dead spots. In the past year the new River North owners have followed through with their commitments to make improvements to the club: just to name a few— new tennis lighting, pickleball courts, and clubhouse roofing, upgraded interiors of the clubhouse, tennis and golf shops, and a new dining venue-The Nineteen Hole. Our Gary Player designed golf course is going through a green renovation and will reopen with state-of-the-art turf, Tif-Eagle Bermuda. Golf course was beautiful but the cart paths could use a little work. My only complaint is that they sent us out of 18 with a highschool tournament going without telling us, so we had to play the back nine twice. other than that amazing course
