What People Say

In summary

Lake Jonesco Golf Course offers a challenging layout with notable elevation changes and some enjoyable holes, appreciated by those who find the course fun and reasonably priced. The staff is generally seen as friendly and helpful, with some positive experiences regarding customer service. However, the course condition receives mixed reviews, with several criticisms about the state of the greens, fairways, and cart paths, as well as issues with maintenance and equipment reliability.

Course is in terrible shape. Cart paths are insane. Staff aren’t super friendly. And they come get you off the course like 45 minutes before sunset. Overall not a good experience at all. Only play here if you’re desperate. Would highly recommend going 12 minutes down the road to play little fishing creek!

Great course. Lots of improvement on the fairways since 2024. Staff is always considerate & helpful. They go & retrieve your phone that you left in the cart. Fees are very reasonable. Some of the cart paths are in need of repair & some are in good shape. 😊

It is what it is for the price. Nothing, and I mean nothing, has changed in 16-18 years since I’ve last played. Greens are super slow and inconsistent. Could use some better songs to help folks that aren’t familiar with the layout a bit better as well as smoothening out those rough cart paths. Hard to complain about playing gold for the price. If people say this is better than Little Fishing Creek, I’m not even gonna bother going to Little Fishing Creek. Could hit balls into the fairways, hit a rut or something and go missing. Probably need a spotter or two to drive up a ways to keep an eye ou…

Had fun and enjoyed the course. Beware of the red ant hills but it was quiet and relaxing.

This course is a good, well priced course. Just like any smaller, cheaper course it does have its negatives with bad cart paths at points and some fairways not in the best condition. Other than that don't be discouraged to play here by other reviews. I've seen some people complaining about the greens while they were being aerated... Most courses don't give a discount when that is being done and it is something that they have to do. The greens as of now are growing in nicely and dead spots are filling in even with the lack of rain. Like I said, don't expect perfect but expect a enjoyable course…

Cart broke down on the 8th hole out of 18. Called and asked if they could bring a new cart and they said they’d send someone out with a new cart for us. An older man came out a few minutes later and asked us what happened and we told him and he said he’d be right back. We then sat out in the summer heat for just under an hour waiting. Called the pro shop again and asked if we could just hitch a ride back to the pro shop and if they could get us a free round. The lady said we would figure something out once we got back to the pro shop. Once I got there I was told the only thing they could do wa…

Pitiful course for any money! We played for the 1st time on 5/5/2024. Fairways are nothing to brag about but my biggest complaint is the greens. All 18 greens had 1 inch aerator holes all over and then they spread sand all over the greens. Putting there will really throw off your game on an even bad course. UNBELIEVABLE to say the least. Don't waste your time or money until they improve!!

I come here with my boyfriend and I wore a tank top bc it's hot out. It's golf attire too! The lady that works the font desk pulled my boyfriend to the side and said I couldnt wear what I was. I'm so glad she got shut down for what she was doing. Good on them.

I played today with my 5 year old daughter. Children under 13 are free. After a very long, hot, and dry summer there was not a whole lot of green on the course. This was expected, though, as much of the grass is dormant as well. The course starts out with 4 holes that are varied and fun. I really like the tee shot on #4. Hole #5 is a very short par 3 over water. Holes #6 and #7 are both uphill par 4's. Hole #8 is downhill and #9 has a forced carry over water. Hole #10 is a classic risk-reward shot, short par 4 with a stream about 220 out. Number 11 has a temporary hole after the 12th, so that…

Played on 20 Nov 20, nice and challenging course. Faiways are in decent shape, greens rolled okay and even had fresh sand in the traps. For $26.00 its worth the money.
