In summary

Uncle Remus Golf Course is frequently praised for its friendly and welcoming staff, as well as the improvements made to the course under new management, particularly the greens and clubhouse. Many visitors appreciate the course's affordability and relaxed atmosphere, making it a popular choice for casual play. However, some reviews highlight issues with certain greens being in poor condition and the course layout being confusing or poorly maintained, which can detract from the overall experience.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ we had so much fun playing at Remus today! Starting with the greeting as we walked up to the pro-shop, Tiffany and Diane had exceptional customer service! We felt like family! Several other staff members welcomed us and even check on us throughout our round 👍👍👍 the course played awesome! Challenging but awesome! Greens rolled true and had plenty of subtle breaks! Michael and his crew have done an outstanding job getting the course back in shape! It’s absolutely beautiful! Can’t wait to play again soon!

I took my wife this past Saturday and had a great time. The only green that was in bad shape was the first, like the other review said. The rest of the course was in great shape. It is a little tight on some holes, but pay attention and you should be ok. Loved the par 3's. One dogleg to the left that was confusing(I think hole 8), but it was the first time that we had played, so we found out and will know the next time. Just couldn't see over the hill, so we drove up there, took a look and knew where to hit it. The people in the clubhouse were exceptional, as well as the Marshall. He was very…

Thank you so much for being the best host for our little GSGA tournament this past weekend. Although the greens could use a little continued attention, the staff was on point. They were the most friendly staff of any course I’ve been to. Didn’t rip us off on snacks and cart fees either. Keep up the good work guys! Y’all are the best!

I booked a tee time nearly a week in advance for 9 am on a Monday. After taking off work and planning my day around a visit to this course I arrived only to be told that their Monday tournament was taking place. I don't believe this lack of communication necessarily falls on the staff at the course, but I do believe there is some obligation to fix whatever the technical errors are that created this problem. Yeah, I was pretty let down to realize I couldn't play unless I joined the tournament. The course looked great and the people were kind. Just a bummer when your time feels wasted due to iss…

Worst course I’ve ever played. The greens are basically sand pits, the tee boxes cross each other (which is dangerous), and there are multiple blind tee shots with no warnings or markers. The course itself feels like a hazard—poorly maintained, confusing layout, and clearly not up to standard. It’s not just bad golf; it’s unsafe.

This is a great little 9 hole municipal course. We come to Lake Oconee every year for a week and always make sure to play a round or two each time. They have really improved the greens and they take good care of the course. Sure, there are nicer courses out there, but this place has the best bang for the buck. The staff is friendly and always happy to help. Enjoy a fun round of ⛳ at this place.

Hidden Gem! This was our first time here and we love this place. The lady and her assistant (the lab) greated us as soon as we walked in, making us feel very welcomed. This was my wife's first time ever playing golf and I haven't played in about 15 years. The course is only 9 holes, but you can play a second round from longer tee boxes to make it an 18 hole day. The course in my opinion is nice and in good shape. You can tell they are working to make it better. It's not the Augusta Masters but it's not someone's backyard either. It's only a 20 minute drive for us and we will definitely be back…

This is a great course and it is getting better and better. The new management team is great and they go above and beyond for their customers. All the changes that Michael has made since he took over have been great. Greens are 100x better. Renovated clubhouse. The atmosphere is leaps and bounds better as well.

Great time course has beee improved greatly. Course management is very helpful. Greens or looking better each week. Tee boxes were clean and maintenance. This is what the lake Oconee area needs more place for public golfers with family friends. Thanks

My son and I decided to play golf on my birthday so we went to uncle Remus. We don't get to play very often but we did today and really enjoyed our time together. The course was fun and manageable and we will be back again.
