Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee is frequently praised for its beautiful golf course designed by Coore-Crenshaw, offering a challenging layout with stunning lakefront views and well-maintained greens. Visitors appreciate the friendly and attentive staff, as well as the charming Southern atmosphere and quality amenities. However, some criticisms include issues with bunker drainage, high fees during peak times, and management decisions affecting property owners and club members.

Great condition. Great layout. Bunkers don't drain well otherwise this course would be a 5 star.

5 Stars! A Southern Gem Cuscowilla is a golfer's paradise. The Coore-Crenshaw design is top-notch, offering a challenging yet beautiful course that winds through Georgia pines and alongside stunning lakefront views. Greens are immaculate, and the recent bunker renovations add a natural touch. Beyond the course itself, Cuscowilla exudes Southern charm. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the overall atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable. It's the perfect place to unwind, challenge yourself on a wor

Stayed at a lovely home on the gorgeous golf course. The grounds on this place are stunning! We had a delicious lunch at Club House on Saturday....a very nice young man named Jack had helped me on Friday to secure our reservation and upon arrival we were cordially greeted by Jack and seated right away. Our server, Maddie was awesome....so friendly and professional. The service was excellent, best hamburger ever and amazing cocktails. Hope to go back again.

While the entire restaurant staff deserves strong praise for uncommon friendly service, Karen (our relatively new bartender) gets a high five for going the extra mile ensuring everyone receives exceptionally great service. Her smile and genuine concern for total member satisfaction deserves recognition. Karen: we are grateful that you are here!

Do not become a member of this club unless you never plan on moving or leaving. Your membership fee is a refundable deposit and it is a scam. You will never see that money again!! I have been waiting over 15 years and am not even close to getting my deposit back. They are trained to give you a song & dance about by-laws, blah blah blah. Very disappointed in their unprofessionalism!

Didn't play golf here but booked a vacation rental for Thanksgiving week with my family. Quality spaces, quality service. We felt comfortable and appreciated for being there. Great vacation spot or second home (if you can afford it).

Had a great weekend here for Member Guest Tournament. First class all the way. Incredible open bar for three straight days. I don't know how we got golfing in between drinking. Thanks Cuscowilla staff.

One of the best courses in Georgia. Different shots are required of you on every hole, and it's a beautiful place as well. They're putting in new greens after the heat killed the last set, so it should be incredible when it reopens Sept. 2014. Highly recommended.

This is place is top notch! If you are looking for the best place to stay on Lake Oconee, Cuscowilla is the place for you! The staff is friendly and polite. Check-in and Check-out is almost effortless. This place really goes above and beyond to make the entire process a relaxing stay free. We stayed for a get-away weekend and it was like a home away from home. There are many things to do while you stay here even if your primary reason for staying isn't just golfing. I will definitely be returning to Cuscowilla for many more trips to come. It is absolutely beautiful with a great lake view. Than…

One of the best kept secrets. This location always put me in the mindset of Florida. Extremely nice!! You have to get in contact with a private owner to stay at this location. VRBO has been our point of contact. You have to pay at pool only bad thing I would say. Should be free to access if you stay here over night.

We had a rental cottage in Cuscowilla. For any of you that know anything about that community, you know that the owners abandoned rental property owners like us by shutting down their management and rental service because it was 'not profitable'. This after pushing this service during the sales pitch as the main reason our investment was going to be profitable and worthwhile. The leadership of the investment and the operating partners are clueless and feckless. At the same time, they also began to severely limit access to the golf course for guests of rental property owners, effectively destro…

This course has great greens that were probably the fastest I have seen. Our caddie told us the week prior they were 14-15 on the stimpmeter! However, the conditions of the fairways and tee boxes were well below what I expected since I paid $225 during Masters week. Many tee boxes were bare and were almost completely sand. The fairways were not bad but not great. The grass around the greens were bare. When you pay $225 (which is more than Torrey Pines) you expect great conditions. Our caddie, Harrison, was great and very helpful. Good course, definitely not great, and not worth the extreme pri…
