What People Say

In summary

Bay Palm Golf Complex is appreciated for its scenic layout and affordable pricing, particularly on the South Course, which many find enjoyable and well-designed. However, there are consistent concerns about course maintenance, with several noting issues with the condition of the greens, fairways, and tee boxes. While the staff is generally regarded as friendly and accommodating, some visitors have experienced service-related frustrations and issues with the on-site dining options.

Played a round yesterday, 7/6. Course conditions have improved substantially from a few months ago! Fairways were in good shape and the greens were smooth. Looking forward to playing there again soon!

Have always loved the layout of the South Course. The conditions today were not good. Tee boxes were basically dirt, fairways were thin and greens were fast and lumpy. Pace of play was excellent though. I guess this is what we get for $45 on a weekday.

This Golf course is a COW PASTURE. WOW, the superintendent and grounds crew must not give a crap geez. We were really disappointed that a base golf course would be in this bad, Especially an Air Force base. I understand you get what you pay for but geez man. The greens are HORRIBLE they have Crab grass dirt patches horribly maintained. Like ok, neglect the Tee boxes, fairways meh, you don't want maintain the bunkers or sand trap take them ALL out...But you can put ALL the money and RESOURCES on the GREENS!!!...

Nice course layout. The course has had a dry spell so it was a a little dry and brownish.

Played on South course couple weeks back. Not sure if past hurricanes are to blame but the course is nothing like it used to be. Fairways and greens in bad shape. Played at 0900 and there was maybe 15 cars in the lot. Word .Just be getting around. Once was the jewel of local courses but not now. Very disappointing.

I recently had the chance to play at both the South Course and North Course of MacDill Golf Course, and my experience had its ups and downs. The South Course was disappointing primarily due to the fairways, which were in horrible condition, making it challenging to get comfortable with my game. However, the greens were in decent shape and rolled well, so that was a positive note. The driving range was also in poor condition, limiting my practice options before hitting the course. On the other hand, the North Course offered much better fairway conditions, which I appreciated, but unfortunately,…

Excellent course. Started off with 3 of 4 Pars but that quickly declined. Fun playable course with a lot of historical plaques to read on each hole. Greens were tough. Fairway is like butter. I'm not a fan of restricted golf courses. I'd go back but I'd need to fall into some money because it's $$$. I went apart of a three some and the other 1 were greated and treated swiftly but for some strange reason I was ignored so I commandeered my own cart. Not a big deal but it was awkward.

Have only played the lesser of the two courses (think that's North), the course is in pretty poor condition tbh, but the price is very cheap, so you get what you pay for. Warning, DON'T play this course without bug spray! I have played courses all over but have never seen anything like this with the amount of bugs there. Not sure I have ever had this many bug bites before in my life. Be prepared! Golf shop attendant was very nice and friendly FWIW.

Not too long ago I was playing alone about to tee off the first hole when a group of older gentlemen rode by me as I was waiting for the green to clear. They got out of their carts and approached the ball. They just hopped right in front of me. I know they knew I was there because we exchanged a wave as they rode past me to the red tees as I was waiting. I hollered to them that I was next and they waived me off (ignoring me). I approached them to ask what the heck they were doing and they said “the guy at the clubhouse said for us to head right out”. I was so mad I just left. I confronted the…

The club house and restraunt close at 6. I did take a quick stint inside the clubhouse to buy a bucket of range balls, and it is well well stocked.

Worst food I've had in a long time. Cheesesteak had almost no cheese, flavorless meat that was very greasy, bun was greasy, sweet potato fries tasted stale and old, no flavor, cold. Took over 30 min to get food. If this place was off base it would close. How is this place still open?
