In summary

Bayou Vista Golf Course is appreciated for its affordability and friendly staff, making it a popular choice for those seeking a casual and fun golfing experience. However, the course conditions, particularly the greens and fairways, are frequently criticized for being poorly maintained, with some visitors noting a smell from a nearby water treatment plant. Despite these issues, many find the value and laid-back atmosphere appealing, especially for those not seeking a high-end golfing experience.

This is the most hilarious course I’ve ever played at Greens: 0/10 Tee boxes: 2/10 Fairways: 1/10 Views: 4/10 Smell from neighboring sewage plant: 10/10 Staff: disinterested Carts: fast as hell Vibes: high, because it’s impossible to take a round here seriously Don’t bring a putter, you won’t need it. Just use your wedge on the green, it’s all the same grass anyway. Is it worth $25? Only if you have some great buddies to play a super unserious round with

It's not that bad. Grass is kinda spotty. Pretty sure it's next to the water treatment plant. I don't know for sure but that's what it smells like, it's not that bad though. I came down to Gulfport from North Alabama for a business trip and wanted to play. They have great rates though.

Played there yesterday and had a great time. Only issue was the greens they were a bit rough, but overall great course and will definitely be back again.

Horrible experience. Guy at the front desk is rude and has an attitude. overcharged us for green fees and the token at the range doesn’t even work. Course is not well kept. Greens are rough. Would give zero stars if I could

The course is a little challenging. Don't let that detour you. It was so much fun and these guys were very kind and accomodating. We had a blast! Shot 12 over but not a bad day at all. Bartender made the best drinks and they even give you a beer on the house if you turn in your scorecard! 10/10 totally recommend!!!!

Nice people but the course needs some serious maintenance as in water for the hard packed very little grass fairways. I had not played in 2 years. Hit it straight with lots of roll (I'm 78) and only lost 1 ball in 9 holes and played the course in 2 hours. Great price including the cart.

This place had all the golf carts you can need and was minimally okay as a golf course. We paid as much for the cart and nine holes as I did for 18 on a really nice Golf Course in Ohio. The fairways were recognizable but not really that green although I guess that's okay for this area. The greens were really small and fast. I don't remember seeing any sand traps, thank goodness. About the only thing I can say is the people were friendly and it was a golf course worth playing on a sunny day

An incredible and highly slept on value. $25 for 18 holes and a cart. You kidding me? This is THE hidden gym of golf courses on the coast. Incredible staff, amazing food, and high value fun for anyone not wanting to spend upwards of $75 just to get angry at how bad their swing is. Now, a lot of the greens are under some form of work, and some are in need of it. So don’t have the highest expectations of the greens. And cause of this, you will either play the best golf of your life or some of your worst. As we like to say, ”The Vista giveth, and the Vista taketh away.” Cannot recommend enough…

A really good public course. Can get a little busy at times. The people who work there are very nice as well.

This course and experience is great for the price you pay for it. I’ve seen a few reviews about unpleasant interactions with staff, but I’ve never had an issue after playing there for over a year. Respect the rules and be courteous to others and you won’t have an issue. The staff and other golfers you encounter playing are mostly top notch people. It’s certainly not the nicest course in the area but it’s definitely the cheapest. If you’re just trying to find a low budget place to have some fun and improve your game without the pressure or judgement you might find on top dollar courses, this is…

Most of the staff was friendly which is always good although the course and greens are not in very good condition but the “weekend course manager” came to me very confrontational and ended up charging me and getting put in his place by me and the cops were called. Will no longer be attending this very unprofessional course and poor “management” over a very small issue with carts past the not very cleared marked no golf cart zone. No “course manger” should act the way he was and especially make threats and end up getting put in his place on hole 17s green crying. Not professional at all would d…

I am not the one to complain about anything, especially if I don’t care for something BUT this Course is absolutely horrible. Not for there course but for the unprofessional staff member that works there who had threatened to kick me off the course simply because this was my very first time playing golf and didn’t know all the rules set in place. I had made (1) mistake and was threatened to be “dragged” off the course with physical force from what I believe to be the manager. Was on hole 3 and couldn’t even apologize for my infraction that I had made or speak and left my son crying in fear. Du…
