In summary

Great Southern Golf Club is appreciated for its historic charm, friendly staff, and scenic views, providing a good value for those seeking a relaxed golfing experience. The course layout is noted for its unique and challenging design, although some find it difficult to navigate due to limited signage and lack of a driving range. While the course's condition is generally satisfactory, there are recurring concerns about the greens and fairways needing improvement, as well as maintenance issues following storm damage.

Decent course, priced around 50.00 for 18 holes. Little bit of a strange layout. Little hard to navagate the course due to some lack of signage, I assume from prior storm damage. Would recommend if looking for a place to get away on vacation though.

Course was fun to play, greens not the best shape but it is the oldest course in Mississippi. Cheap rate. Views on hole 1, 4 and 18.

Played the 21st and 22nd of March, 2018 at 1:30pm. We had a great time and the staff was very friendly. They went out of there way to make us feel welcome. The course itself was perfect for us. We golf for fun. The play moved and we didn't have to wait at all. I thought, for the price, this course was an excellent value. The greens could be challenging and bunker, water location is located for an average to good golfer. One of the great features of this course is it's location. If you are out on the course to relax and have a good time this course is perfect.

I have played this course many times with friends and enjoyed it. We played on Feb 1 and we were thrilled with the condition of the greens. No bare spots, greens were full and lush. Putts were makeable from anywhere. They are working on tee boxes now. Keep up the good work guys, making this historic course one of the most fun to play again.

Not a bad course; priced fairly for what you get. Golfed on a pretty crummy day, so we didn't run into many golfers. Course was pretty tore up from a storm from the night before and could have used some quick clean up from their grounds crew before opening. All in all, not terrible and worked perfectly for our first time out this year.

Course staff is very friendly and helpful. The course is wide open and greens are slow and bumpy. They look good but need some help. Fairways are not bad , but the rough is just weeds and heavy grass. There is no driving range and the putting green is rough. Pricing is very good but do not expect a manicured country club course.

Decent golf course. Greens were just a little on the hard side. 150 yard shot landing directly in the middle of the green not even leaving a pitch mark. Plays more Links style except for the big up-slope leading into most greens. Layout was a little funky without the mid course stop into the club house, as the 9th hole finished on the backside of the course. SO if you are a mid round snacker you better get it before or expect a nice little 500 yard detour back to the clubhouse. Other than that, nice friendly staff, decent price. IF you like to and are able to walk the course, it is laid out pe…

If you are a golfer, and are looking for a nice course , you should skip this course. It may only be like 25 or 30 bucks for 18 with a cart, but you get what you pay for. This may have been one of the worse if not the worst course I have ever played. Greens were rock hard, super slow the tee bbox had nothing but weeds on them . Awful course. Pay a little extra some where else this place event at 30 I felt cheated. And I have played courses from your municipal courses to whistling straits and Pinehurst, don't play awful

Layout was pretty cool, but the greens were really terrible. But, the price is excellent for what you get. The staff in the pro shop were pretty nice, too. Overall, it was a fun experience, just don't expect "tour level" quality.

The greens needs a little improvement but overall the course was really fun to play. The view was beautiful also. The service there is great. Cindy, the beverage cart girl, was very friendly and such a pleasure to have around. I will most certainly come back time after time.

Lifetime golfer. Played all over. This is a nice course. And it is old school country clubish. You can score if you do what you are supposed to do and you will find enough trouble if you don't hit the ball straight -- or can't bend it some on keys holes. Yeah there's burn patches on some greens but just move the ball over a bit. God I hate whiners -- go drop $450 at Pinehurst 2 if you want southern perfection! Great staff. Great food. Great view. Surprisingly no bugs.

Just terrible. Fairways are like concrete greens are like velcro. One hole doesn't even have a yardage marker. 35$ for 9 holes. Also no elevation changes. Possibly an old goat ranch. Don't know how anyone would play there twice.
