Grand Bear Golf Course in Saucier, MS is widely praised for its beautiful setting within the DeSoto National Forest, offering a well-maintained and challenging Jack Nicklaus-designed layout that provides a sense of seclusion and natural beauty. The staff receives high marks for their friendliness and professionalism, and amenities such as the clubhouse and on-course food options are appreciated by visitors. While generally well-received, some players have noted issues with slow pace of play and occasional wet conditions affecting the fairways.

Grand Bear in Saucier, MS is a solid track that offers a really enjoyable round of golf. The course winds through the tall pines and natural terrain, giving it a true “back to nature” feel with plenty of character. The layout is fun and fair, with wide fairways and a nice mix of holes that keep you on your toes without ever feeling overdone. It still delivers a great golf experience and is definitely worth playing if you’re in the area. Grand Bear is one of those courses that may fly under the radar, but it’s a round you’ll be glad you played.

Played in Dec holidays after a few days of rain. Course was really wet, and fairways were in bad shape due to that in some spots, greens were the best part of the experience! Loved the layout with tall trees and hitting over swarm land! Driving range closed due to rain! The thing I didn’t like at all was that for a premium course, they didn’t have any marshal!! We were stuck behind a slow foursome and played a 5 hr round when course was wide open ahead!!

Gorgeous facility and some of the nicest staff you could get. Greens were only okay, but my round was at the end of November so absolutely not their fault, but tee boxes and fairways were still beautiful. Little stand making fresh burgers at the turn were delicious, and a very generous discount for military members. Will absolutely be going back

Beautiful, Professional Golf Course - Jack Nicolas design. Sunday has a very reasonable price for this quality round of golf. Greens are very challenging. The back nine was more forgiving.

This is a beautiful course down the back road of DeSoto national forest. Cart boy picked up up carbide and loaded our bags up. Well kept, excellent range, with pyramid formed balls (which was part of the green fee). Narrow, challenging greens. Bartender and pros hop very polite and helpful. Thanks for a great day.

Unreal track. Had a blast, felt like we were the only ones playing it and alone in nature. Course was in great shape despite heavy overnight rain and playing cpo. Great customer service-my driver actually snapped the day before and they gave me a loaner for the round. Will absolutely be back if im ever in this area again.

Great course located in the middle of the DeSoto National Forest. In great shape, greens rolled true, traps were very playable and the fairways were well taken care of. The staff was kind and professional. Loved our round here.

What a great experience !! From the friendly guy setting up the cart to the pro shop staff who we had a great chat too, to the helpful and friendly bar staff too. What a great drive in, great clubhouse, but the course, wow, lovely on the eye, to walk on and to play on. Set in those thick woods, it was like playing on your own most of the time. Fantastic experience, Thanks to all that work there, made our day !

Absolutely beautiful course. Extremely well planned out and fun. While not extraordinary in difficulty it does have some challenges and the greens are pure. The crew keeps this course in amazing condition. Every green was running smooth and fast. Bunkers were well maintained as well as the fringes. Fairways were tightly mowed and a little muddy but still amazing. The staff was amazingly polite and accommodating! If I had any one negative it's that they don't like it when singles call to book times, but that's a lot of big courses nowadays. Hopefully get back next time I'm in town.

The most peaceful golf experience I’ve ever had! Just driving through the winding road of trees to arrive you get a sense that it’s going to be a special day. Take the extra time to check out the beautiful Clubhouse & get some gear for memories from the pro shop. Great driving range and practice areas, Friendly staff all around from arrival to mid-round, on-course, and post-round, everyone we encountered could not be happier. Coming from packed golf courses with people on all sides and holes squeezed on top of one another, this was a tremendous change of pace, and how golf is truly meant to be…

Great experience. Played June 29 and 30, and the course was in splendid shape. Manicured well, greens had barely a mark on them, bunkers played true. Highly recommend playing Grand Bear. Our second day there, Sarah helped us with the cart and ran cold towels out to us... she made a difference - thank you! BONUS TIP: get a breakfast sandwich from the restaurant...they are outstanding!

Great golf course. Laid out well and in great shape. A lot of fun to play. Staff was great! I can not praise them enough. I would definitely recommend and will play again. Worth the little extra money to play.
