Berkshire Valley Golf Course is, without question, one of the most spectacular public courses in New Jersey—maybe anywhere. It’s easy to see why it lands in the state’s top 10 every single year, because the combination of jaw-dropping views and immaculate course conditions make this a golfing experience you’ll never forget. The magic begins before you even hit a ball. The drive up into Oak Ridge is beautiful on its own, winding through rolling hills, farmland, and quiet countryside, and then the property suddenly opens up in front of you in the most breathtaking way. Booking a tee time was a…

Horrible. I have been there a few times over last 2 years and was great. Went in 5/27/25 at 10:50. Started us on 9th hole (not 10th, but 9th). Pace of play was ridiculous. Fairways were nothing but divots and greens had “tractor” marks etc. No way will I go there again this year. Never mind on a Tuesday it was OVER $90!!! They should be ashamed. Can’t believe it went from one of the most beautiful, well maintained courses around (still scenic from afar) to a DOG TRACK.

Probably the most “complete” course of this group. It’s got a bit of everything—elevation, well-protected greens, and a layout that flows naturally through the terrain. You need to drive it well here. Fairways aren’t overly tight, but positioning matters a lot for approach angles. Greens are typically one of the better features—consistent, with enough movement to keep you honest. It’s fair but challenging, and it rewards solid ball striking more than anything.

We didn't finish 18 holes because the rain was pouring and came and went multiple times for an hour. However, I can still review the course based on the 9 holes I played. The staff is friendly, and the greens are tough but clean! It starts with a hill on the 1st hole and has a narrow fairway. The course offers a beautiful view, and the fairway is very well maintained. One downside is that the carts seem a bit old and don't have a rain cover to protect your clubs. They do have a water fountain at the clubhouse, which is a plus. I will definitely come back, especially to use my rain check credit…

Favorite course in the area. Start at the top of a hill/mountain and work your way down. Great views. Starter can be a bit grumpy but course is well maintained. Will definitely keep playing here.

My favorite of the Morris County courses. Challenges all over but i like the layout a lot. I play here spring, summer, fall. At times its well maintained tee to green. Other times you can tell it gets played a lot. The halfway shack is never open when i play here but they do have a cafe at the clubhouse. Play here in the fall for the best views.

Beautiful course with plenty of challange. Good part: great views, friendly staff, range available, clean facility Needs to improve: tee boxes and bunkers. It's challanging course with tough pin positions and variety of holes to keep you engaged for the whole round. manage first 5 holes as those are most challanging of all. Tee times for weekend get filled up preety fast. I would definitely play this course in all seasons

Overall - decent quality and great views! Tee boxes are chewed up though. Also, lots of rocks in the bunkers. Could do better with tee boxes and bunkers given the greens fees were jacked up this year. Otherwise better than average county course. For $72 - the tee boxes are terrible. This course blew my mind. You start way up on the mountain side, work your way down switchbacks for the front 9. For the back 9, you go into the flat valley and face water hazards from a few ponds. Overall filled with beautiful scenery, played challenging but very fun.

Absolutely stunning views. The first five holes are trick as you are on top/side of a mountain. When you reach hole six, (severe downhill par 3) you can see the entire course. Tricky greens, very open fairways make Berkshire Valley the great golf course it is. You will be rewarded for proper golf shots. If the putter is hot, you’re going to score well. Not many golf courses have the natural vibe strictly on location alone. If you live in New York or New Jersey this a must! Shout out to Bill!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the wonder that is Berkshire Valley Golf Course, and I must say, it exceeded all expectations! The staff's excellence shone through from the moment I arrived, providing a warm welcome that set the tone for an unforgettable day on the greens. The course itself is a masterpiece – a blend of fun, beauty, and challenge that left me in awe at every turn. The sweeping landscapes, pristine fairways, and perfectly manicured greens create a visual spectacle that's hard to match. But don't let the scenic beauty fool you; this course is no walk in the p…

Every year my golf partner and I try to add at least one new course to our summer rounds. Well we found our Gem for this year. An absolutely stunning golf course. I am dying already to get back there. Beautiful, awesome condition, challenging. Spectacular layout. All the employees were welcoming and pleasant. Played this past Thursday and the weather was perfect.
