In summary

Bidwell Park Golf Club is frequently praised for its scenic setting, friendly staff, and well-maintained course, with many appreciating the wildlife and serene atmosphere. The course layout is generally well-received, and amenities such as the pro shop and grill are noted as positives. However, some visitors express concerns about the pace of play and occasional maintenance issues, particularly on the front nine, as well as inconsistent experiences with staff and course management.

Honestly I don’t think I can ever go back to this course. The conditions have been getting worse and worse over the last few years. And the pace of play is just horrible. Monday at 3pm and you’d think it’s open, nope. Groups of 5 and people who don’t know how to play hitting the ball back and forth across the fairway while waiting for people to clear the green on par 5s. Take your money somewhere else

This place was great. Well maintained course, friendly staff, stocked pro shop, decent green fee and friendly folks on the course. The course is pretty forgiving. Fairways are nice, sorta hilly on certain holes but nothing too bad. Bunkers were not too bad, as far as an obstacle anyhow. Sand was maintained well, found myself in & out of em a couple times. Greens were tough, fast some holes and slow on others. Overall, absolutely awesome! Cant wait to play there again. Thanks Bidwell Park GC!

It's a beautiful place to play or even just explore. There are always Dear & Bucks lounging on the greens. Drago my Iguana and I go often. We will forever visit this Course that's Open to the public, always hikers and bikers too.....

For winter golf it's a decent track. Blue heron. Views of the park and true greens. It's a quiet and serene experience playing golf with no houses and traffic around. Annoyance from the gun club across the street but that's not an every day thing

A perfect setting for a round of golf!!! Great course layout, wildlife all over the course!!! Friendly staff in the proshop and bar and grill area!! Very impressed with the drainage of the course considering how much rain has come through recently!!! Can't wait to come back!!

I played my first full round here on Saturday with a friend. The Price was right even with a golf cart, which was almost necessary due to the heat. The deer lounging around the course were an unexpected surprise. The holes were challenging and we really enjoyed the last half of the round due to it cooling down as the sun began to set.

Disappointed. The front nine is in terrible shape. Greens and Tee boxes are poorly maintained. The back nine's a little better but overall the course is in very bad shape. You long time Chico residents will remember sunset hills. Well. Bidwell is now sunset hills quality. Hope this improves as I really like the layout of the course. The staff is awesome!

This golf course is the first stop for us every time we visit Chico. The course is well maintained with very professional staff, the cafe/grill has good options, and the pace of play is slow to normal with nice views. Jackson is the man here! He makes sure everything is operating smoothly and helps you out with anything you need. Definitely would recommend this place.

Great experience! The Friday night short game happy hour was great, Robert was very knowledgeable and made us feel welcomed even as novice players. Played 18 the next day, it was a little slow but to be expected on a beautiful weather Saturday. The course is in great shape and challenging enough for a good time. The food and beverages were fairly priced and good! Only downside, wish there was a driving range. We will definitely be back, highly recommend.

Front desk was rude and if you don’t have a membership will treat you like a peasant . The course Marshalls rushed us the entire game , literally sitting and watching us play hole after hole . This was my buddies first time on an 18 hole , and his experience was crap . DO NOT GOLF HERE IF YOU WANT TO HAVE FUN!

Well maintained public course. Snack bar staff polite, but young men in pro shop are rude. They claim to have a course marshall, but he/she is non existant and worthless. No one to keep flow moving and the blue tooth speakers off. Rap music is great but not at 90 decibals while Im teeing off. Avoid at all costs on weekends when every wannabe with no etiquette shows up. Took over an hour and a half to play three holes. Literally an uunsupervised day care. I reccomend saving your nerves and either playing Table Mtn or Sevillano. Lastly, cost is pretty high for a muni course.

First time playing exceeding any expectations I could have possibly had. From one round and now knowing where every hole is from tee box etc it can only get better.
