In summary

Big Oaks Golf Club is appreciated for its friendly and accommodating staff, diverse 27-hole layout, and reasonable pricing, making it a favorite among local golfers. The course offers a relaxed atmosphere and is well-suited for casual play, though some visitors have noted areas needing maintenance, such as patchy fairways and bumpy cart paths. While the greens are generally in good condition, some players have expressed concerns about rising prices and inconsistent course upkeep.

It’s really a 3.5 rating. The greens are good here and nice condition. The rest of the course needs work. It’s hard to tell where fairways and rough are. Be careful with tree roots throughout the course. The layout is ok for the S9 and E9 courses. The best layout is the N9. Best holes are S4, S6, E14, E15. The N2 is super interesting with creek down the whole length of hole. N5 is cute Par 3. N6 and N9 are both short Par 5’s and can have some tricky shots.

Big Oaks is a wonderful course for the average golfer that is not picky about everything that is perfect on a country club style course. Jose and his staff are very friendly and accommodating. It's also nice that they are open all year long.

Course itself wasn't too horrible. However, the guy running it needs a lesson in customer service. We had bought a 4 buckets of range balls at 7$ a piece and we weren't going to be able to get to the driving range before tee time. Asked immediately after purchase for a refund and he said no and gave an attitude. He followed us around on the course all day just yelling at people. Terrible just terrible. If you have the option to go somewhere else just do it. Not worth the hassle of dealing with people whose JOB it is to have good customer service when all they do is the complete opposite.

I'll give it 5 stars just for the atmosphere. It has a 9 and an 18 hole or 3 9 hole courses. It is no frills. Just drive up and play. The owner is feisty but funny (just have a good sense of humor). Great beer selection or Hard seltzer. Course is in great condition for the price. This is my go to place when I'm in Pleasant prairie. If you are looking to get in 9 holes in under 2 hours, this could be your place!

I don’t even play golf but my boyfriend does and we love coming to this course, it’s beautiful no matter which side you choose, the owners and everyone that works on the course are super friendly, it’s a great place to come when you have some spare time!

I like this course and consider it a go to. But there is no real oversight during play. I've seen people hit 3-4 balls EACH off of a tee. I've seen a foursome on the putting green, putting over and over like they were playing putt putt. I've seen foursomes not let faster players play through. The two brothers that basically run the place are pretty cool dudes.

OK I usually don't leave 2 star reviews. But this time it is required. Positive. Large golf course. Interesting layout. Good location (close to highway). Greens are good. Now negatives; This place is run down, the grass is patchy, in some spots no grass at all, only dirt and stones. Helmets are recommended when you ride the carts. The paths are very bumpy so you will have to protect your head. We have lost so many balls on the flats. I think there are so many holes that balls disappear there so you can't find them. I could say few more bad things about this place. I would love to come back her…

I’m giving this place 4 stars because I feel extremely welcomed and comfortable playing here. Staff simply amazing. This is a place to work on your game and get better. Sure course conditions could be better but I go during the week and $35 is fair. Greens are alright. nobody that goes here is playing for the green jacket which is great and it is such a nice place and great location

I've been to Big Oaks probably over 25 times in the last few years. I liked it for the fact that it was cheap, and you don't get paired up. However over time prices have gone up exuberantly and the condition of the course has deteriorated. The course is simply not worth $45 a round of 18 holes. Mud and dirt all over the place, cottonwood balls and helicopters all over the fairway and greens making it possible to lose your ball in the fairway. Is it cotton, or a golf ball? Last time I played was over Memorial day weekend, and there were sprinklers set up at the tee box of 5 or 6 of the holes. M…
