In summary

Blue Heron Golf Course is appreciated for its beautiful setting, affordability, and welcoming staff, making it a popular choice for local golfers of all skill levels. The course is well-maintained with recent upgrades, and offers a pleasant atmosphere with a mix of challenging and easy holes, ideal for working on short game skills. However, some visitors have noted issues with slow pace of play, occasional staff rudeness, and inconsistent course conditions, particularly on the front nine.

I almost hate to leave this review; the course deserves the publicity, but I feel like it's my "secret" place. I love to play early or sneak out of work for 9 at the end of the day or even 18 during warm months. I recently started playing again after about 30 years, and they always provide me a laid-back place to shake off the rust. Par 63, super affordable, challenging in its way, but with relatively easy greens, and most of the staff are very friendly and welcoming (occasionally, they will strictly enforce "last call," but I understand; people often have things they need to get to at the end…

I have played here many times. The staff are always friendly and polite. The course, even with a little rain, is pretty good. The rates are very affordable as well.

Located on Kent Island, Blue Heron Golf course is a County managed, fun, small 18 hole course , mostly comprised of par 4s (80% could be considered par 3 for experienced golfers). No tee time is needed, which can lead to some bottle necking at peak times of the year. As a local resident of the area I almost like the no tee time approach out of pure convenience. I wouldn’t travel long distances to play this course, but would recommend for anyone local to Kent island.

Blue Heron Golf Course is a hidden gem for golfers of all skill levels! The course is beautifully maintained, with good greens and well-redesigned fairways that offer both a challenge and an enjoyable playing experience. The recent upgrades really improve getting around the course. The staff is incredibly welcoming, ensuring that you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. Whether you’re there for a casual round with friends or a more competitive game, Blue Heron offers a peaceful and enjoyable atmosphere that will keep you coming back. Wouldn’t come back. Course is not in great condition and the staff was frustratingly slow.

The front nine are closed until July 2023 (their estimate) for a much needed updating. They have new golf carts with GPS. If you go off the cart path it will not allow you to go forward, just reverse until you get back on the cart path. Extremely good prices for the relatively decent course. Remember you get what you pay for.

A fun place to play. Nice staff and the course conditions have improved from an attentive hard working grounds crew. For a small local county course it is a great deal and the driving range is new. Also, a practice putting green and chipping area.

You'll definitely get your money's worth here. Super relaxed atmosphere, friendly patrons. No tee time needed. I've played a lot of golf all over the country, but it's always nice to go out and play some good old fashioned pasture pool where you don't have to dress the part. I learned how to play golf on courses like this, and I always enjoy playing them. A good course for the kids or anyone learning the game.

Nice Course, rude staff. Played 12 holes in a few hours after paying full price for 18 and they thought we played through multiple times. We had been paying attention and there was nobody behind us that we were holding up. After proving that we were unexperienced golfers and had only played 12, they never refunded after we asked politely. I understand we were taking too long, but they never warned us for being too slow and just immediately told us to leave.

Friendly staff and great value for an average golfer. Not the best quality course but it's challenging and very inexpensive by comparison to others in the area. Great little course to work on your short game. Not great if your driver is the best club in your bag.
