Bonita Golf Club

$72 dollars and every other green had massive chunks taken out, no ball washer station and even no yardages at the tee boxes. How is this place more expensive than Balboa? I asked a lot of the regulars if it typically takes 5 hours to finish the 18, they said yes. LONG day of waiting at the tee box. It gets a star for layout though. The layout is a good time with a lot of circling back to the club house and snack shack.

Bonita Golf Course is in great condition for August on about 80% of the holes. The rest were still okay but some fairway damage. We really enjoyed it. The holes are mostly flat but there are still plenty of challenges. If we were not playing with regulars we would have gotten lost making our way from hole to hole. Not laid out or signed very well. But still fun. The green rolled quick and true and were in good shape. Around the outside of the course there is a hiking/walking trail, that had people riding horses. Great treat in the San Diego area for not too much money.

Our home course. Great value for money here. Decent pace and well maintained. Restaurant is also a great stop for breakfast or lunch.

Played and ate here at Bonita golf course and have to say cool club house and pro shop, Food is pretty good but the course conditions are absolutely awful fairways are torn up, greens have a ton of sand on the side of them, It really pisses me off when they charge premium prices for sub par product. This course is now in contention with Chula on being one of the worst golf course in San Diego. They really need to pull their heads out of their behinds and get the course fixed up. Extremely disappointed with this place and won’t be coming back anytime soon. Maybe they should invest more money in…

Definitely, recommended if you’re on a tight budget. Our wedding theme was Simple Elegant. We’re both minimalist. We drove down from AZ, great thing we managed to pack light for the decor etc., our friends helped too. Hands down! Working with Keli for 9 months has been rewarding. She is great a communicator, a team player, attentive to details, visionary, flexible and supportive. She is not a typical salesman. You will not burnt out your wallet with this venue. No hidden fees. This don’t happen often, surprisingly, we paid less than what we originally budgeted for the venue cost. That alone is…

Fun course! Wide enough so you won't lose too many balls. But a bit of a circus trying to stay on course. Some holes overlap making it a bit tricky but not a reason to skip this course. Unfortunately we played at 5 PM and there were no carts available 😢! So we had to walk the entire course... 😤😫. The Bar & Grill has a great menu and FULL Bar!!!

Bonita is arguably the best full size course in the south bay. For roughly $60ish full price or $40ish at twilight, I would say it is one of the best courses in San Diego at the price point. Have reasonable expectations, it may take longer than 4 hours to finish a round. The greens and fairways are occasionally a bit patchy. And sometimes you tee off 20 minutes late because of a back up. HOWEVER, the course and staff as a whole are well worth the money you pay, and the course is always a great time. Go and try it out, I highly recommend it.

Would’ve been good to know range closes early every other Monday before I drove down here. It’s also not as good value now with their new prices given it’s in the same conditions.

Fairly basic course. It just seems like a bunch of similar holes strung together. It was in decent shape, but the dirt cart path apparently gets pretty muddy from the sprinklers in the morning. The staff was very nice. One of the groundskeepers even gave me a free drink coupon for respecting the “no carts” sign on the approach to #18. I guess my only significant complaint is the price. $44 with a cart was a little steep in my opinion. I can play similar courses for $25. Teed off by myself at 6:10 and finished in about 3 hours.

Very nice greens, beautiful and a clean course. Went to the bar& grill for a meeting had breakfast it was so good.

Nice course, easy to walk. Greens are tricky: not very big, but with a berm that runs unevenly across each green, creating numerous angles, and making every putt a challenge to read.

I love golfing here, it’s my preferred course even though I live 30 minutes away. Which says a lot! Great price and the greens are surprisingly well maintained for how busy they are!
