National City Golf Course is frequently praised for its friendly and accommodating staff, well-maintained course, and affordable pricing, making it a popular choice for both beginners and seasoned golfers. The course offers a relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere with a variety of challenging shots across its 9-hole layout. However, some visitors have noted issues with slow pace of play and outdated facilities, suggesting room for improvement in these areas.

This course is very well maintained, and the staff is kind and accommodating. After playing the majority of the courses offered in San Diego, I always find myself coming back to National City more and more. One of the things I appreciate most is that I never feel rushed when I play here. Chuck and his team do a great job of keeping the good vibes going. Another big plus is that there are always pros readily available for coaching and training on the range. I’ve worked with a couple of them, and both on-course and off-course lessons have helped my game tremendously. If you’re looking for a cour…

National City Golf Course is my go‑to. I’ve played all over San Diego, but this place feels like home. Friendly staff, a fun challenge, all the facilities you need, and a great layout. A few touch‑ups wouldn’t hurt, but it’s still the course I keep coming back to.

National City golf course has been my home course since I started golfing again during the pandemic times. The staff from the maintenance, front desk and cart barn are all very welcoming. This place has vastly improved since 2020. Even the volunteer Marshalls do there job to keep pace of play going. The course is constantly being checked on and kept in great conditions. One of the last 9 hole golf courses in San Diego which allows you to get a quick round in, play twice or have time for the rest of your day. The Players club membership makes it worth it and you get discount perks, a free bucke…

The course layout is enjoyable and has good potential, but overall the experience needs improvement. The grass wasn’t well cut in several areas, which made some holes less enjoyable to play. The push carts available for rent are quite old and not very sturdy, which can be frustrating during the round. The clubhouse and food area also feel outdated, and unfortunately the space didn’t look very clean and had an unpleasant odor. With better maintenance and some updates to the facilities and equipment, this course could offer a much better experience.

I continue to learn and play golf at the NCGC for over 40 years. The course is well maintained, the folks working in the club house and on the course are very friendly and supportive. Playing with family and close friends at NCGC is outstanding and very memorable. I really appreciate that we have a golf course in National City. Thanks to Chuck and all his support personnel for all that they do! I also want to thank Mayor Morrison and the city of National City. Pete Mendiola

This course is arguably one of the nicest $20 courses you can play in the San Diego area. Is it perfect? No. Is it complex? Not really. Is it beautiful? Well, I guess that is subjective. However, what it is, is great value golfing with consistently playable conditions and friendly welcoming staff. I have been playing here for almost 20 years, and plan to continue to play here. Go try it out and have a great time!

The staff takes pride in keeping this course up and building a warm and inviting atmosphere. For golfers who love the game and just want to get to the golf without all the clubhouse pretext, this is the place to play. Make sure to stay for the 19th hole experience, get a hotdog drink and enjoy a cigar!

Hands down best maintained course for the money in the area. I have golfed at most courses In the area and to be honest you can not beat the price. Biggest down side would be the pace of play which is like watching paint dry at times but other than that I can’t complain.

I'll preface by saying that this is not the prettiest course, the range is not very well maintained, and fairways are a little rough on some holes. However! The staff are some of the friendliest people I have met on any golf course! They seem genuinely happy to be working in the golf industry, and are very enthusiastic. Not to mention this place is extremely affordable. These two details are what make it such a great place to play. Some other positives to mention, it is very beginner friendly, all ages and skill levels can enjoy golf here - this does however make it a slow rate of play on some…

I Love This Place......... Been coming for years. The greens are coming in great after the storms last month, Thank you to the Greens Keepers. The fairways are good and kept well. Overall a great place to get in a quick 9. Don't miss Mr Freddys Margaritas or The Letty Burger....

This place is really great, cool layout that uses the land well. Not very long so it’s fair for all golfers. Some tricky shots that utilize the unique landscape. Greens are slow, but I found that good putts were still rewarded. Can’t beat the price. Love all the targets on the driving range.
