In summary

Brae Burn Golf Club is appreciated for its challenging layout, particularly noted for its long par 5s and sloped greens, which test players' skills. Many visitors commend the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the overall value for the price, especially during the summer when the course conditions are at their best. However, some guests have expressed concerns about the maintenance of facilities, including outdated cart paths and inconsistent course upkeep, and there are occasional issues with customer service and communication.

This place needs to invest in itself. No ball washers, maybe 4 rakes for sand traps, cart paths that are falling apart, carts that have constant issues. I don’t think they’ve done any maintenance in 10 years. This could be a very good course if they wanted it to be.

Nice, fun course. Fairly wide open and easy. Staff was very nice and helpful. The course can get pretty wet and muddy after a bit of rain. Have to dock a star for sure for the gross bathrooms in the clubhouse though.

Probably much better in summer conditions. Wet and soggy in mid March. A decent layout. Pace of play not an issue on this day. Pleasant person in the antiquated clubhouse, some of which is undergoing renovation. Cart paths like Michigan roads. Price was okay, not an exceptional value. I'm from out of town so unlikely to give it another chance. In summer conditions it may rate 4⭐.

Home of the monster, 600+ yards par five. Two dog legs to approach green. Most of the greens are sloped at least 30 degrees towards fairway which forces you to hit the green below the hole for an easier uphill putt. Overall, a challenging course that will definitely test your putting skills.

Brae Burn is a nice course that we play several times throughout the year. They have an interesting assortment of holes. A pretty long par 5 and a couple of pretty long par 4's. We had a little confusion related to the book and spring rates but the manager was nice enough to resolve the issue. The lady at the bar was very nice. Will play again.

I’ve gone here probably 5 or 6 times this summer. As a fairly new golfer and young person this course is a challenge. Another challenge is trying to be treated right by staff as a young golfer and this course staff is awesome, the guys up front are friendly and the lady selling hot dogs is nice too. I can always expect a good time coming out here, i hit the stick on the first par 3 of the course, it’s a fun one. Highly recommend if you’re looking for nice conditions with some challenging shots 6/5 stars.

5 stars for the course and the conditions. Played at the end of July and course conditions were excellent for a course that typically charges $50-60 a round. Pace of play was fine for a Sunday morning 8AM tee time and I actually had one of my best rounds ever. I took a star away because of the carts. I know it's expensive to maintain a course but I've never felt more of a disconnect between the steering wheel and the wheels. My cart kept flashing "check engine" and so that besides the tie rods on their last legs, the engine was puttering out. It didn't help that the cart paths themselves were…

Parking lot in horrible shape. Felt like I was off roading. “Cart path” not much better. Maybe that’s why they insisted I sign a waiver to use the worst golf cart if driven in years. Price was “decent” to play. Course was packed to the brim.

Golf course: Great value for its lay out and condition. Lots of hills compared to other courses in the area. Customer service: Horrible. I walked in and got no welcome or acknowledgment that I was even human. Had to initiate why I was there before the guy spoke. He said 3 words the whole interaction and I really felt like I was a burden. Then we were on #8 and decide to call in an order like it suggests all over the score card, and the response was “An order for what??” They had no idea why someone would call to place an order. I was then transferred to the “tavern” where I was told they only…

When I saw the sign that said 1923 it was clear…. There has been no investment since they originally opened over 100 years ago.

Conditions are atrocious! Fairways had patchy tufts that were 3" deep here and there. I'd suggest even mowing for fairways and let the greens grow in to stop balls rolling 40 feet off the green into the rough. That happened more than once in the 12 holes we played before leaving because it rained. I'm sure once the dandelions start flowering, the use of a yellow ball will be entertaining. Overpriced at $48 for 19 with cart.
