What People Say

In summary

Brae Loch Golf Course is appreciated for its generally good condition, interesting layout, and affordability, making it a popular choice for golfers of all skill levels. The course offers a peaceful setting with essential amenities like ball washing stations and rain shelters, although some visitors have experienced issues with limited clubhouse services due to ongoing construction. However, there are recurring criticisms regarding the maintenance of certain areas, such as fairways and tee boxes, as well as occasional slow pace of play and customer service concerns in the pro shop.

CLC PRAIRIE student run restaurant now open in Brae loch golf course. Limited service but fantastic service. Eclectic menus and great prices.

Terrible course for the price on a Sunday afternoon. Other than the greens, the course was in horrendous shape: the fairways were awful and the tee boxes were atrocious. No seed/sand mix to be found to fill any divots. For what you pay here, you'd expect a better course experience. A course in this condition is worth less than half of what we paid. Especially when you can play far superior courses for the same amount on a Sunday afternoon. Will never come back to this course again.

Nice course. Lots of straight holes with plenty of "give" for the fairways.

I found this course to offer the best value for all it has to offer. The condition of the grounds are one of the nicest I've seen at a value price point. I'm happy that there are ball washing stations and nice signage at every hole. Porto Johns and rain shelters are provided at strategic locations. I golf at off peak times. Found the course to be very peaceful and challenging.

A perfect course for a beginner golfer with reasonable green fees. They have a practice green near the clubhouse and the course is in fairly good shape. The course is mostly flat and can is very walkable. They have great twilight deals but their staff does not let you stay on the course past 7 PM.

Good course. 1 star off for amenities. Clubhouse under construction so no snacks or drinks except what's provided by cart staff. Also not many portable restrooms on course, at least not when we went out.

The course is in horrible condition. They don’t water the fairways. The grass is dead and the ground is hard as a rock. Some tee boxes barely had any grass on them. 18 holes for $55 is a joke. This course should be no more than $25.

Course was in excellent condition. Greens had some slope and interesting breaks. Only negative was the slow pace of play on a Sunday afternoon. Took almost 5 hours. Why don't they send out a staff person to help move things along?

If you are 30+ handicap that enjoys a poorly maintained course, idiotic pro shop and ranger, and a 6 hour pace of play- this is the course for you! I play 80+ public courses in Northern IL annually, this was BY FAR, the worse experience I have had. Be warned.
