Always very much an old boys club, some 100 years and running, on the shores of Lake Simcoe. Formerly part of Briars Resort. The lodging portion was sold off to Asians about 2017 or after the crash..?..likely before. The resort still held the Briars name, but lacks the Sibbald family charm and hospitality. Formerly a waterfront residence on Lake Simcoe.

Very cool course. Great history. Great upkeep, holes, greens were in fantastic shape. Like the small touches - water coolers on front and back 9, no untucked golf shirts etc.

A very friendly good walking course that we try to play twice a year. The course us in good shape, although there are a few patches that are under repair. Before coming we were notified that small time aeration and sanding was taking place which did slow the greens down. The colours in the fall are outstanding. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed for dinner which was excellent as was the service. The deck, with wrap around plexiglass, tables and chairs are all new, a nice improvement.

The Briars may be one of the most unheralded gems in golf in all of Canada. Unmatched setting, incredible conditions, and great people.

Well laid-out greens and fairways were in excellent condition - great putting green - Starter congenial and helpful. Great experience. Snack front- good fresh food and congenial service. Would have been nice to have driving\warmup range Still great course.

A great coarse ! In phenomenal condition. The fairways were like carpets and the greens did not have a blemish other than the odd ball mark. The food was just as good. A hidden jam just north of the city.

Awesome layout and conditions were great 👌 despite being a bit of a shorter golf course it still has some teeth! Staff were awesome and I highly recommend if you have the chance!
