In summary

Bristow Manor Golf Club is praised for its well-maintained course, challenging layout, and scenic rural setting in northern Virginia. Many visitors appreciate the friendly staff and good value, especially given the course's condition relative to the price. However, some golfers express frustration with the pace of play, cart policy, and certain customer service experiences, suggesting room for improvement in these areas.

I enjoyed the course itself, but the cart policy and customer service left a very poor impression. The golf carts are required to be returned by 7:50 PM, yet sunset wasn’t until 8:24 PM. That means golfers are being pulled off the course more than 30 minutes before daylight is gone. As a customer, it’s difficult to understand the logic behind paying full greens fees while being prevented from finishing a round during perfectly playable conditions. The issue isn’t the rule itself, courses have every right to manage operations and staff schedules. The problem is the disconnect between the cust…

Had a great round here today. The course was in solid condition given the weather we’ve had this summer—much better than some courses still charging $100+ with dead greens and nonexistent fairways. Very tough track with a layout that makes you think for every shot. Greens rolled true, save for a few dead spots here and there and some inconsistent speeds between holes. Fairways were also pretty well kept, but the roughs had some parts with crab grass and clovers (also lots of dead spots around fringe). For what I paid, though, this was an unbeatable experience in this area.

Bristow Manor is a beautiful golf course located in a rural setting in northern Virginia. The course is a relatively open links style layout that is both well maintained and fun to play. My only gripe about the course is the fact that play was extremely slow, it took my group over 5 hours to play 18 holes. Other than that I enjoyed the course and would recommend it to anyone in the northern Virginia area who is looking for a well conditioned course at a fair rate.

Unique experience for an intimate wedding. The venue is cute with proper refinement. It has all the trimmings you'd expect from a manor house of the period. There was an exterior tent used for the main wedding and reception, which is heated. However, it does not hold up well in high wind. Another note is that this tent is very close to the main road where vehicles and large trucks drive by making the wedding experience feel a bit interrupted. Parking was adequate and close by. Overall, I would say it is a great venue for a small to medium wedding but not what I would suggest for an extravagant…

I was very disappointed with this golf course. I made a reservation through GolfNow and arrived a bit early. Since there were several open tee times ahead of us, I asked if we could start earlier. However, the staff rigidly told us to wait until our scheduled time, showing no flexibility. I have never experienced this at any other golf course. Additionally, when I went into the pro shop to check in, a large black dog kept in the office ran toward me. I was so frightened that I had to run away. For people who are afraid of dogs, this can be a truly terrible experience. I do not want to come…

Greens are in great shape. The "pub" is also nice. The fairways are dormant and shaggy right now, which is expected for winter golf. It was a 5 1/2 round though, even with a marshall on the course. The pace of play here is usually slow but this was tough for a $75 winter round with extremely gusty winds. However, I booked through Golf Now and one of our foursome couldn't make it because he tested positive for COVID this morning. We told the pro shop approximately 2.5 hrs before the round he wouldn't make it and they said it was ok. When I was on hole 16 I got a notification that the pro shop i…

The course lay out is OK. But, the drainage of the course has seriously something wrong and staffs do not have/ know how to handle in winter season. It was delayed today and seems like they don't have any plans what to do. And, there was rain about week ago and the course was so wet like rain yesterday. So, it was cart path only and didn't get the information because we start from back nine. Weather eas nice but, I don't think I will comeback again.

Annette, Caitlin, and the team at Bristow Manor helped to pull of the perfect wedding of our dreams! Everything that we wanted, they helped us to make it happen. Our Coordinator Caitlin, is so professional and coordinated with all of our vendors. She made sure that we had everything we needed on our wedding day and made sure we ate! The venue is beautiful and the staff makes your dream come true!

Quirky front nine with a creek that you have to cross multiple times. Quite a few forced carries. Back nine is still a wetlands style layout but a bit easier I think. Quite a bit of room from left to right, just have to be careful not to hit it through the ends of the fairways. Good condition, zoysia fairways so the ball will sit up nicely. Greens were full and rolled smooth, bit slow. US Open style rough so that could be cut. Played in 4 hours. Good value too and probably worth a play if in the area.

The course was good, but the manager, who was in a separate room in the pro shop, was too impolite. Without any information, he said, “We’re closed,” and later changed his word to “We’re in the frost delay, but don’t know when we'll open the course.”

140 for a weekend rate with rock/mud bunkers is diabolical. Not to mention the “older” staff are the rudest people you’ll ever come across. It’s like their upset your playing their course. Avoid playing here at all cost. PW and Old Hickory isnt much further away.

It's early in the season but the green definitely is rolling nice. Fairways are also good just needs some warm weather to green up. Looking forward to play again.
