In summary

Generals Ridge Golf Club is praised for its challenging and unique course layout, which offers a stimulating experience for more skilled golfers. The course is known for its narrow fairways and significant elevation changes, demanding strategic play and precise shot placement. However, some visitors note that the course maintenance could be improved, with issues such as uneven greens, sandy tee boxes, and deteriorating cart paths. Despite these concerns, the course remains an affordable option with friendly staff and scenic views.

Play this course while you can!! This is an insanely fun course, and one of my favorites I have ever played. Is is super challenging. The only downside is that they obviously do not have the budget to maintain it to a high standard, but is still a great experience. It is also very affordable (18 holes in the afternoon for $25 including cart rental). This would be a really bad course for a beginner. Sadly I read that the country is probably going to close it soon. If you like challenging golf and a unique experience, play it while you can!!

Had a wonderful time yesterday. Was a bit worried after reading the reviews, but this is a playable course that will challenge you and make you think before hitting the ball. If you want a simple game, you may not find it here. Driving range and chipping green were slightly out of repair, but they got the job done (main reason rating is a 4 in batted of a 5). Price was very reasonable (used a groupon) and the staff was super friendly. Honestly, thanks guys for a nice challenging round of golf. We really enjoyed it.

The course is very challenging. Started off with 4 pars then... we hit a dog leg left... perfect tee shot, pitch on the green and.... 12 put. That's is right, some of these greens are so slanted, the have no choice other than to put the hole on the side of the hill. My first put missed the hole 2 inches right and 12 inches by, stopped, then proceeded to roll back past where I was (15 feet). They need to have that green and several others redesigned to be better suited for golf. There are also several tee boxes that need major work as they are merely compacted sand. Additionally, they need to…

The course is hard, but I played my best golf there. The course is hard because it's very narrow, if you can't hit the ball straight you are going to have a very hard time. This course will challenge you from the first hole to the last. I would never walk this course due to the course layout. The cart path needs to be worked on, besides that I loved it. If you want to be challenged, play this course.

I read the reviews, but I was not prepared for how hard this golf course was going to be. I am about an 8 handicap, and it challenged me a lot. A lot of REALLY cool approach shots and decisions. I would love to play the course again because of that. But the greens were almost unfair with how much undulation they have. There was no flat putt on the course. The greens did roll true, so I can't complain too much about that. The rough wasn't very rough, and the fairway was a little long, but it has been rainy recently. The tee boxes were a little sandy and inconsistent. Overall a fun, tough round,…

Amazing course layout. Can't beat it. One of the most challenging and tightest courses you can play. Just needs better grounds keeping. Poor tee boxes and many dirt patches. Greens is good shape, even in late November. Great course for the money. Great views, very scenic. Highly recommended.

The course actually has great potential. Challeging. Great views. Interesting holes. However, they need to improve upon a few things initially. One- fill the canisters on the cart with sand. Not a single cart had any sand when we played the other day. There was a starter at the course with seemingly nothing to do so not sure why the canisters were not filled. Secondly, the counter personnel needs to inform golfers to be very caution driving as there are lots of steep hills and turns. I've played there before but he did not know that. He should have asked and at very least remind me to be cauti…

This course is a fun, unique challenge if you are a mid 80s golfer or better. If you can't hit straight, stock shots with regularity, you are unlikely to have a good time. If you aren't confident in placing your shots, a round here can quickly devolve into a mountaineering expedition through thorn-filled rocky gorges. I avoided this course for a couple years based on the reviews I have read here, and after playing here, it is clear the majority of the reviews were written by the people who spent most of their round digging through ravines for errant shots. If you are a 10 handicap or better, t…

Wow! Hard but wicked fun! It is true "target golf" where you must be strategic about where you place your shots to advance. On almost every hole, I found myself having to think through risks and rewards more thoroughly than most other courses I play. Very intellectually challenging! A couple of suggestions for those contemplating playing it: Hitting it straight is far more important than hitting it long. As others have written, once off the fairway, the ball is lost so use a club that is reliably straight instead of pulling out a club for the distance. Another is to use the contours of the la…

it sucked lmao they put on a million pairings of 2 and let them out two minutes apart they were literally up our ass the whole time. we were completely rushed and played the round in three hours and forty five minutes because of how pressured we were to finish the hole. the ride in the carts weren't any better. there are a million hills and you have to walk half the time in 100 degree weather. the roads weren't even roads and we actually got stuck at one point. 0/10 i could make a better golf course in my backyard :)

The course has a nice and challenging layout and when it's in good form some of the fastest greens around. Really affordable for Nova. Unfortunately the course wasn't in prime shape when we played in early April. I've seen it in much better condition and hope they get it back to par soon.

This course is not cart-friendly; in fact it is dangerous. I've seen two instances where carts nearly turned over sliding down the hill to a fairway. The problem is that the cart paths often sit high above the fairways, and it is difficult to maneuver the cart down to the fairways in a safe manner. The problem is compounded by erosion alongside many of the paths on the fairway side of the path. Getting back up to the path from the fairway is often a difficult challenge. If you choose not to drive the cart down to the fairways, you have the difficult challenge of walking down to the fairway ove…
