In summary

Twin Lakes Golf Club is appreciated for its solid course layout, reasonable pricing, and well-maintained practice facilities, offering a good value for golfers. The staff is generally helpful and accommodating, contributing to a positive experience. However, some visitors have noted issues with the rough being too long, slow pace of play, and occasional lapses in course maintenance, particularly on the Oaks course. There have also been isolated reports of negative interactions with staff and challenges with course management.

I had the pleasure of playing at this course with my friend, and since it was my first time playing in the United States, I was a bit unsure of what to expect. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond. The manager was incredibly kind to lend me a driver so I could complete my friend's set, and when I realized I needed another kit, they were super helpful in arranging a rental at a very reasonable price. A special shout-out to the starter, Doug, who was extremely helpful and very generous with us even though we were slightly late. And the marshal Richard guided us all the wa…

Very good course. Good layout and some elevation changes. Some awesome views. Decent price for this course. I played the front 9 on the Lakes, and the first 4 holes on the Oaks. Most fairways were in good shape. Some areas could use some work. Some greens were in bad shape. The rough is tall, thick, and has a considerable amount of weeds. Easy to lose your ball. It appears to be a busy course. My tee time was 4:50pm. I was a single in a cart. There was another single in a cart, but we had 2 walkers. Allowing this type of combination does slow the play time down a bit. There were groups of 4 wa…

Twin Lakes Golf Course – Lake Course (Clifton, VA) Played: Twilight tee time at 4:10 PM, walked solo round in under 3 hours 15 minutes. 1. Course Layout: ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (3.5/5) The layout is relatively standard, with no standout signature holes, but it's solid and enjoyable. Both the Lake and Oaks courses are designed for approachable, straightforward play. 2. Course Condition: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) As a county-run public course, expectations are modest—but the condition has steadily improved over the years. Fairways and greens were in good shape, though green repairs (like divot marks) could use better p…

Great golf courses(2). Nice pro shop. Great driving range and putting warm up facilities. Played the lake course. Ton of fun shots. Fairways are very forgiving. We’ll designed and very pretty course.

Best golf course for the money. Golf carts are better than others and have two 18 holes courses. Driving range and practice areas are abundant and staff are pleasant. Their burger is great and must try before a round….

The course is nice and they are very organized at the start. Unfortunately, random people just showed up at the 14th hole and decided to play in front of us so the course got backed up. We later found out that the foursome following us were cut by some other random foursome. We left the course when we found the random foursome (who were only hitting their balls about twenty yards) having a chat on the 16th tee while the group ahead was already clearing the green. Very frustrating, very rude, and why would I ever go back?

Played this past weekened and the Oaks course was in terrible shape rivaling Reston National now. The greens and fairways look like they have not been touched in months. Definitely not worth $80+, courses in this shape should offer discounted prices. Hope this gets fixed becuase I used to love playing here.

The Lakes Course is very pretty. Many (most) of the fairways are heavily sloped from side to side. The worst part is the rough, though. Several inches deep, lost several balls that I SAW land and knew were just feet off the fairway. Nearly impossible to hit out of, makes the short game an absolute nightmare.

Two 18-hole courses, both in excellent condition. Challenging for all levels, yet fair also.

I’ve been playing golf for 17 years (and played D1 in college) so I’ve seen the best and the worst of golf courses — both public & private. Twin Lakes used to be a great gem in northern Virginia but unfortunately it has gone downhill significantly in the past few years. I went out today (actually writing this from the golf course) and the rough was abysmal, it’s like their grounds staff gave up. Any ball that wasn’t in the fairway was either lost or took 5 minutes to find. The greens were so incredibly slow, like they hadn’t been cut in weeks (I don’t even want to know what number they’re roll…

I don't normally write course reviews and especially less than positive ones but I have to address the rough at both the Lakes and Oaks courses. For whom these courses are intended the rough is entirely too long to the point where anything not in the fairway becomes very difficult to find and sometimes results in a lost ball. Our group easily lost 4 balls in the rough over 18 holes and I know that you'll say: watch your shot, it probably went OB, don't hit it in the rough!, etc. NO, we looked exactly where it ended up and sometimes we found it, sometimes we didn't, once we stepped on it becaus…
