Canyon Lakes Golf Course & Brewery

The conditions of this course are absolutely abysmal. Every hole has dead grass up the fairway and the tee boxes look like bombs went off on them. The only saving grace of this place is the staff. The employees are extremely kind and helpful. But if you want a good round of golf in this area, go to Dublin Ranch, where it’s cheaper and in much better condition.

The only ding on this course is that the pitting practice green is tiny (see photo) and there isn’t a driving range. The fairways are at high in the rolling greens hills of San Ramon. So accordingly the fairways tend to be sloped which kinda gets annoying, but also, the balls get fair bounce sometimes. We play twilight and the scenes from the course are simply breathtaking. The fairways are well kept and the greens tend to be sluggish. Once you have finished the round, there is a nice clubhouse with food/drinks and beautiful vistas to take in as the day winds down.

This course could be one of the nicest in the bay area if they spent some time dialing in the grounds. It's already pretty legit for the price you pay though. Really fun layout. Would be really cool to see what it would look like if they spent a year making it pristine. They would be able to charge a fortune. Such a pretty location with some cool holes

Great golf course. My first time playing there and greens are well kept. Great hole lay out. Didn't have to wait on the green people were moving. And it's a brewery there to . Beer was pretty good and they serve food also. Will go cone soon for sure l.

I played Canyon Lakes yesterday and I’ve played this course many times over the years and it’s probably at its all-time worst. I’m very concerned. This course could really draw in a lot of play if they did a couple things to improve aesthetics and playability of the course. Opportunity areas - clean up the sides of the golf course, there’s the fairway, then barely any grass before balls run down into non playable parts of the course. Create an edging of rough to catch balls before players lose them into non-existence. I can’t tell you how many fairways I hit right down the middle and the ball…

Fantastic golf course, but they gotta start maintain the greens a little better. There are some hole with pretty huge dry dirt patches on the greens. Tee boxes need a lot of work as well.

Canyon Lakes is a very narrow and fun golf course with fairly tough par 3s. The greens were medium speed and the course was in decent shape. Pro shop staff was very nice in the morning and afternoon. The breakfast burrito hit the spot, and the Blackened Ahi entrée in the dining room was really good for lunch. A really fun day at Canyon Lakes. I lost my 5 iron out there though. 😫 I hope someone turns it in.

It was a challenging golf course with some beautiful views. The only problem was the sand pitts were too soft and hadn't been raked in a while. I would definitely go back though. As a blind golfer, some of the narrow fairways were very challenging.

The course layout is nice and challenging, however, the maintenance of the course has deteriorated and is not fun to play. 80% of greens had giant dirt patches that made them unable to read or play.

It was such an amazing round and the weather was a great round in California for the last time . The job is relocating to Colorado thanks for having awesome conditions

Challenging course, but their fairways had quite a few dry patches and some greens were also in rough patch. The green fee is reasonable but the course can really shine if they can address issues with upkeep.

Decent course for the price and a great selection of craft beers on and off the course. Greens were rolling true and soft enough to throw darts.
