In summary

Cattails Golf Club is appreciated for its challenging layout, scenic setting, and friendly staff, with some golfers enjoying well-maintained greens and the unique design of the course. However, several visitors express concerns about the course's current condition, slow pace of play, and perceived high pricing, particularly as it faces closure for redevelopment. The clubhouse facilities and overall maintenance have also drawn criticism from some patrons.

I had the opportunity to play Cattails the other day and I was a little sad. I have played this course many times in years passed and I always enjoyed a challenging round. I understand they are closing soon to be replaced by housing. Unfortunately that is the way the round when. Bunkers were no longer being maintained, no signs on the holes, no distance markers. It was like watching an old friend pass away. The staff were still friendly and helpful. But the experience was like a going out of business sale. I gave it 3 stars based upon the fond memories I have of rounds gone by. I wish them goo…

Great value and a fun track! Wish more courses had specials like they do here on the golfnow hotbuys. Nice greens and lots of marshy cattails. Course is in good shape.

Very slow. No ranger. Super frustrating. Never again on this course. Waiting 5-10 mins on every tee box. Preposterous!!!!!!!! N

Clubhouse staff fpund my wallet and returned it to me the next day. I think that action is a true reflection of the Cattails golf course, which, btw, is in great shape. Many holes have the "up north feel". Greens are fast too

A weekday 18-hole round at Cattails was one of those days I needed — fresh air, challenges, and nature. I played with friends, some of whom are newer golfers, and the course accommodated us well. There are holes where you can take it easy, holes that make you think. The signature water-carry hole gave me that “moment of thrill” I love. Beyond the course, I appreciated the atmosphere: after our round, we sat on the patio, ordered seasonal drinks, and shared laughs. The clubhouse staff were warm; they offered suggestions on tee placements for newer players (very helpful). I felt more seen than…

I’ve golfed cattails over the years and after this past weekend, it will be my last. It is extremely over priced. Some of the greens are in horrible shape. The golf carts should be condemned if that was a possibility. I had to switch my cart out because the wheel would not turn without an herculean amount of force. The staff consists of a lot of younger folks that sat around a table in the clubhouse conversing about the previous evening’s events (hard not to overhear) as opposed to doing something on the actual course or in the clubhouse. They weren't engaging or very helpful. The round was pa…

Well maintained and always a good round. My first ace on the 6th so I'm a fan of this course.

Rolling up to this golf course doesn't project much promise. But once you stand on the first tee, you are in for a golf treat. Condition of the course was impeccable (early September). For $40 walking rate it was a gem compared to courses in middle TN who charge $60 to $120 and don't know how to keep grens from dying. The course may not play the longest but it has some nice challenging holes where driver is rarely the play off the tee and accuracy is not to be dismissed. While I was stuck behind a rather slow playing 4-some on the front 9, they took a break at the turn and I could breeze th…

Way too tough of a course. Even from the white tees. I am a poor golfer. But lose 17 balls????? You need 180 yards over the swamp ON THE FLY on many holes. Also, tight fairways. Greens are good. Staff really nice. I will not be back.

This course is incredible! Fabulous design! The fact that it will now be a housing subdivision is tragic for golfers.

I golfed here last Monday and they charged me $60 . $45 was the rate they were supposed to charge me but I didn’t say anything so I went out and started golfing I’ve golfed here before but never again the course wasn’t taken care of it all the tea boxes look like a Back alley of Southwest Detroit Never again. I don’t recommend going here either not anymore I used to, it’s a rip off now .

I really came here to give the couse ranger Ed a shout out. That guy is awesome, and he made my day! The course is as everyone else here says. Very technical. Be ready to leave your driver in the bag for at least 7 or 8 holes. Everyone was super nice and we had a great time.
