In summary

Cherokee Golf Center is appreciated for its affordability and friendly staff, making it a suitable option for beginners and those looking to practice their short game. The driving range is often praised for its reasonable pricing and decent conditions. However, many visitors express concerns about the poor state of the greens on the par-3 course, inconsistent operating hours, and occasional issues with customer service, particularly regarding closing times.

Some of these reviews are crazy. Its a public course that charges $14 during the week and $16 on the weekend. They have no teetimes, you just pay and get in line if there even is one. Anyone expecting greens like your favorite course that charges $60-$100 is actually insane. I played the course on Sunday 03/22/2026 and it was far better than I would've expected for such a cheap course. The staff i dealt with were all pleasant and helpful. The one guy apparently just cant read numbers or thinks he deserves special hours of operation just for him and his kid. The hours every day are 9-5, just l…

Showed up on 3/7 at 5PM with my 7 year old who is just now getting into golf. I have played my whole life, worked in the industry, and have done just about every job imaginable in the industry. Never in my life have I ever been told we could not hit balls, with a closing time that’s posted as 7PM due to having to pick the range and being able to see. I have picked more ranges and washed carts till WAY past dark. It’s pretty simple if you’re gonna close at 5 don’t have your open till 6. We just wanted to hit golf balls in the time you have posted as open for business. I have been there plenty…

Really enjoyed this driving range and 9 hole. Perfect for beginners like me and my boys. Michael was a great help. Looking forward to working on my wedges.

Rating solely for practice facility and not par-three course. Good range and fairly new balls at reasonable price ($15 for large bucket).

I enjoyed a cheap round of golf, about half of what I pay in California. One green was terrible but my sister made a 16 foot putt on it anyway so how bad could it be? plus the dude at the counter was real helpful and lent us clubs and extra balls. Ill be back.

Had a great first experience playing here. Very nice staff, and good value for the price overall. The tees could use some work, but everything else is in great shape, and at this price, that's more than good enough.

Greens need a little bit of TLC but great for beginners

Like playing 9 holes on a beach. Greens are legit dirt/ sand, the whole place is dirt and sand. Why do you even open it and call it a golf course? This is embarrassing

Really enjoyed hitting a bucket of balls at Cherokee this Tuesday morning. The clerk Steve, was very kind and helpful to myself, someone who hasn't hit a golf ball in 45 years.

The range was perfectly acceptable, and the staff were friendly. But the Par 3 greens were unplayable. Took my son here to play a cheap course and the greens were so bad that I'd rather have putted on gravel. Can't recommend the Par 3 for that reason but the range was decent for practice.

Driving range is great. Greens are in bad shape - need work. Manager was very nice and professional. Fairways are narrow. This could be a great par-3 with some hard work. Course is easy to follow (basically in a U shape). I enjoyed my day - could have been working.

I give this place zero stars. I have never met a more rude person than the old man that works there. The sign inside says that the last ball hit is at 6:45. He came out at 6:40 telling us we had to go. My 12 year old daughter was going to hit one last ball and the old man kicked the ball off her tee and said it’s time to go. I have never met a person so rude in my life! Never going back to this run down driving range again!
