What People Say

In summary

Cider Ridge Golf Club is frequently praised for its excellent course conditions, unique layout with significant elevation changes, and friendly staff. The greens are often highlighted for their quality, and the course offers a good value for its price. However, some visitors have noted issues with cart availability during events, inconsistent communication about facility hours, and occasional slow pace of play due to lack of a marshal.

I found this course a while back, today I brought some friends to play. First, I’ve played all the public and several private courses in Birmingham. Cider Ridge’s greens are PERFECT. The course is in fantastic shape. With all the rain we’ve had this week, it was not cart path only. The front and back 9’s are totally different with both having some really cool holes. It is a must play. 1 hr outside of B’ham and LESS than $60 weekend rate. It’s worth the drive.

My brother and I played 10/25/25. This course is in excellent shape. The greens are smooth and roll true. This course has a lot of personality. It is not boring! Cider Ridge is an hour east of B' ham on I-20. It's easy to get to and worth the drive. Great staff and facilities. Stop playing the same 3 courses and go on this adventure. You won't regret it. Updated pictures from 12/27 - course was in winter mode but still in great shape. Greens rolled smooth!

Cider Ridge is a beautiful course with some great elevation changes. The staff and management is awesome here, they treat you like family. Definitely worth the trip if you’ve never been. Carts are in fantastic shape and they have good practice greens/driving range.

The course itself is beautiful. I am only giving this a 2 star because the management here didn’t properly prepare for a college tournament by ensuring there would be enough carts available for the parents to support their children. Most of us are 55 plus and the terrain here is difficult to walk between the steep incline's and downhill slopes. They could’ve made this a closed tournament if they weren’t going to have enough carts. I have been to so many golf tournaments and this is the only course with this terrain that wasn’t prepared. Other courses that even the most out of shape person coul…

I played here a couple years ago and loved it. But I played today and when I got to the golf course I was told the back nine was closed and the driving range was closed. And I was not informed that before I got to the course if I was told that I would have not drove the hour to get here and i am extremely disappointed and probably will not be back!!!!

Big picture: cider ridge is a public muni golf course and it is a hidden gem. Nice layout with fun elevation changes and a couple of hidden tee shots. Greens are exceptional not too fast not too slow and only a few bad spots. Fairways very nice but several had spots they were working on. Sand traps are a problem in low places where water and sand and dirt turn to mud. All in all a really fun golf outing

Played this course several times, each time has been a great experience. They replaced the greens to Bermuda this year and they were rolling great. The course has a large variation on types of holes, mountain holes with large elevation changes, lowland holes with tree lined fairways, short drivable par 4’s (#11) and long “bogie is a good score” par 4’s (looking at you #16). In its prime it plays firm and fast, during winter they do a good job keeping everything in good condition and greens rolling smooth. Will be coming back!

It's a great course ran by some awesome people. The course is in great shape! We are in town for the race at Taladega, so we brought our clubs along. You won't be disappointed booking a Tee time here.

A very beautiful track that plays every bit as well as it looks. Greens were phenomenal and rolled true. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to test their game. One of the best Courses I’ve played in years.

Was Cart path only, and I get it because of all the rain, but the drainage is terrible despite all the hills. Had to hike 10-40 ft hills to get to the fairway. Kitchen wasn’t open and no cart going around, even with a full card all day. We got hit into 4 times even with letting people pass, last one actually hit our cart, and we were not going that slow, if you come be ready to play speed golf. Was not worth the price they put on a round.

I held a baby shower at the clubhouse. The facility is beautiful. Cory and his team were very helpful with setup and all of all needs. I definitely recommend this facility.

Great course. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. I come here often, more for the range than anything. I would say there could be better communication with patrons about the range hours. Says is stays open till 7, but will close at random hours throughout the week. I drive about 30 minutes one way to use the range and it’s pretty aggravating when I get there and I’m told it closed at 4. Overall great place but communication to patrons about range hours would be helpful.
