In summary

Cinder Ridge Golf Course is widely appreciated for its well-maintained fairways and greens, challenging layout, and friendly staff, making it a favorite among both locals and visitors. Many golfers enjoy the unique design and scenic views, particularly on the back nine. However, some patrons express concerns about the pricing structure, considering it high compared to other local courses, and a few have experienced issues with pace of play and customer service.

Love this golf course, the owner works there and a very friendly staff. The course is well kept and it is a great challenge, with the prairie short grass and the woods, creeks and ponds. The greens are undulating and lots of fun to conquer. The price is sweet and there is a club house with food and beverage

Play here weekly and can’t get enough. It shocks me how available the course is and every time I play I’m surprised Cinder Ridge hasn’t hosted some pretty big tournaments. The owner/designer George couldn’t have been nicer at my last round.

We were there this week with our grandson’s high school golf team. The course played well for the boys…challenging, but fair and playable with good shots. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there starting with the staff and including the unique landscaping and tee markers. Well worth checking it out.

The course was in good shape and is a great challenge. The only issue was pace of play. It was terrible and no one was monitoring the course. The group in front of us was at least 1 hole behind and didn't seem to care how slow they were going.

The price for 18 holes is absolutely ridiculous here. Two days of the week it’s actually somewhat reasonable (Tuesday & Wednesday $49). Thursday jumps up to $55 and then Friday goes up $10 more dollars at $65 a round. Saturday & Sunday are priced at $15 more for the weekend at $80 for your round. Not to mention a Monday round of 18 is priced at $65. Almost every course within a 50 mile radius is cheaper. I played about 20 rounds here this year just on convenience of the course being close to home for me. I also use the practice area and driving range a couple times a week also to try and impro…

Cinder Ridge has developed into a very well maintained and eminently playable experience. Greens are now 1st class with challenging speeds. Fairways are lush, tee's offer plenty of choices to suit your game. Kudos to the Superintendent and crew- 5 stars! Pace of play is quick and fun. It's always been a challenging course and the work done in the past few years really makes a difference. So if you haven't played there in a while I strongly suggest you do. You won't be disappointed.

First time playing here. It was an hour drive to get there but worth it. Course was laid out well and was in good shape. 17th hole can be a problem for older players because of steep elevation in front of the green. The rough was very easy to lose balls in as they tended to sink way down low. Lost a couple that we shouldn't have. Overall, a very nice place to play golf. Will definitely return here.

I have been playing here for more than 25 years and this course has always been on my short list. It is challenging, but fair. The greens, fairways and even the rough are always well tended. George makes sure there are constant upgrades to the course and surroundings. Don't the forget friendly staff!

Bent grass fairways and excellent greens! Elevated and challenging Par 3's that you can reach with an 8 iron. The back 9 plays like you're not in flatland Illinois! Creatively laid-out, the back 9 is an exciting finish to a fun front 9. Great job! Fun course! Priced perfectly!

I love coming to play Cinder Ridge. It can be a challenging course, but always loads of fun. Manageable for any golfer no matter the skill level. Appreciated the friendly staff who spread tee times out so that every group plays under 4 hours, even on memorial day weekend. You can't do that at most courses now a days!!! Hats off to Cinder Ridge. I was also pleasantly surprised at how good the concessions were. Best hot dogs!
