In summary

Woodruff Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained grounds, friendly and accommodating staff, and scenic setting, making it a pleasant and enjoyable place to play. The course layout is noted for being short but challenging, particularly on the back nine, which features narrow fairways and abundant trees. However, some visitors express concerns about the pricing, particularly the cart fees, and find the front nine less engaging compared to the back.

I’m at Woodruff once a year for a golf outing and really enjoy playing here.

I may have done this backwards....please forgive me! This is a beautiful course, very well maintained. The counter staff in the shop are friendly people. I'm here today because the clubhouse is functioning as a polling site for this April 1 local election. There's a practice putting green right outside. At 5 this morning (when we had to "set up,") I could hear a Great Horned Owl calling!

Out of the three Joliet courses this is the best taken care of. Wedgewood is the best though. The first 9 holes are uninspired and boring. I liked playing it and the clubhouse was amazing. The staff was very helpful and great to deal with. I just can’t get over the front 9 everything was straight and boring. The back half was amazing. Totally worth playing. If you felt a chance play the back nine twice and skip the front nine. No divest anywhere though it was a very well taken care of course.

This is Joliet's hide gem.The course is well maintained and the staff is 5 stars. If you play the front well the back nine will see just how you adjust to some difficult holes for your total score after 18 holes!

Peyton was very accommodating to me and my 12-year-old son, and I'm very appreciative of that. Great course and staff.

From $54 to $74 is the up-charge for a cart is absolutely disgusting. $74 for a course that has no par 5's? You can play this course in 3.5 hrs. Front 9 is boring and is an executive 9. The back 9 gets better, but as a whole, it's NOT worth $74. This is a $48 course on the weekend charging $74. Save your money and go 3 miles away for $64 and play Broken Arrow, which is a normal course with 3 different 9 hole options. On a nice day on the weekend, Woodruff had barely any cars in the parking lot. I can promise you that it's because of inflated prices. I gave the extra star to the poor staff who…

Very nice public course. Was very pleasantly surprised. Park distract courses aren’t usually this nice, but I loved playing here. Shot like garbage... but that’s my fault :) Very cost effective and enjoyable course to play.

Played there today. The greens look good but they are very slow and the pin placements were diabolical. The back nine is very unforgiving as the hazards are right in the spot where my driver distance is. If I lay up then my second shot distance is more than my 1st shot. The other issue is the bunker sand is like mortar. Very hard to hit from.

The course is in Immaculate shape. I remember the old club house and missed its classic design, but the new building is a good watering hole, and it fits the course. They switched a few holes around to accommodate the new club house. It's fine, but I liked the old layout better. If you've never played there, it won't affect your enjoyment at all. Classic tight course that's visually a beauty!

Nice staff, real nice tee boxes and greens but for 70 dollars I expect a little more; some of the area of the course was grassless or full of clover. Just expensive for what it is, id rather play at coyote run where it's cheaper and nicer course.

Walking was challenging, but great experience overall. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Course was in good shape even with the season coming to a close. Pace of play was good. Finished the round in less than four hours. Definitely on the "most likely to recommend" list.

We were happy to see they had ball and club washers at every hole. Greens are in great condition. Great course for biggeners and high handicap players to build confidence. Friendly staff. Putting green but no driving range.
